I know but if its enough to settle the incident without the hassle of insurance companies then thats what i would do.
My thoughts too, get them to sign something saying they have accepted this as recompense for the incident.

Just suck it up and pay it
If you go through your insurance you'll have to pay your excess anyway, plus your premium will go up for at least the next 5 years
Be grateful she's being so reasonable. You're lucky
Surely your excess will be more than £100 anyway so if they're happy with that to settle the matter outside insurance then it's a no brainer...
Why do people keep saying this nonsense! I will say this as clearly as i can.
YOU ONLY PAY EXCESS IF YOU MAKE A CLAIM ON YOUR INSURANCE. IF SOMEONE ELSE MAKES A CLAIM YOU DONT PAY ANY EXCESS.
That's really clear, and correct, thanks. The big text helped loads.
However, he (the other party) would be making a claim on his insurance since he is at fault and the excess would apply.
Its clearly not clear enough. I will try again.
YOU ONLY PAY EXCESS IF YOU MAKE A CLAIM ON YOUR INSURANCE. IF A THIRD PARTY MAKES A CLAIM ON YOUR INSURANCE YOU DONT PAY EXCESS.
edit: has the OP actually said what the damage was to his car?
