Did Corsairs quality control go right down or something? I've have two TX650W and both have failed within a year. First one just died, second was making a spark and a crack sound when turned it and soon died, just like the first. Second one turned up with an extra screw rattling around inside it, that I had to shake out before use.

I thought, maybe I'm just unlucky, but looking around I see other reports of sparking and dead Corsair supplies. I done a lot of research before buying and all the reviews gave them top marks.

So unlucky? Some sort of quality issue appearing after the reviews give them top marks. Kinda lost faith in them a bit, might even sell the replacement when it comes and buy another brand :(.

I've just sent back a few weeks old AX850 due to sparking and making a big bang noise when switching it on, refunded and bought an Enermax, let's hope they haven't gone down hill too

I had an AX850 die on me, got a refund and bought an AX750 to have the same outcome!
But I since it was over 30 days when the second incident happend I had to accept the replacement AX750 even if I asked for a refund(not from OCUK).
But I like the AX750 :)
Smart fan control - which I have seen only once spinning the fan(when running 3DMark11 extreme preset)

Had a 5 year old HX650 that died. Actually slightly younger than that I think.

That said, the RMA process was so fantastic, I bought an AX750 without even thinking about it, and sold the 650 on once it came back.

I have no choice but to take a replacement as I'm pretty much at 2 years from original purchase date.At least they don't seem to take anything with them when they go :).

If there doesn't seem to be a quality issue, I guess I'm just unlucky :(, I'll see how the replacement goes then, although still can't say I'll trust it not to die.

I myself have had two Corsair PSU's blow on me. Both being "Corsair 650W TX". I'm a sucker for punishment though because the PSU I bought for my new rig is again Corsair. The "Corsair GS 700W Gaming Series PSU" to be precise, not had a problem with it so far, had it about 3 months now...

Here are my thoughts on Corsairs reliable PSU's.

:(.

Thinking I might just sell the replacement then and get a different brand, no rush as I dug out an old seasonic and that is running my machine fine, just lacks connectors.

Wasn't too bad the first time as it could go to retailer, but failures now are to Corsair and £20 a time to send it back is not good if the replacement was to fail.

I have a cx600 in a lower end gaming rig which is pretty much acting as a hot air exhaust and has been running fine for ages.

I don't expect my ax1200i to die for a fair few years, if at all. Lol.

Funny this,
I too have had 2 of these blow (TX650W)
after the second I gave up spending more money on P&P

I had a HX620 die on me a shade under 5 years, Corsair replaced with with a HX650 80+ gold so no complaints from me or problems so far :)
