My i7 is over heating, how do I fix it?

Did you set CPU voltage response to fast aswell? It's a stable board once its setup right, you need a good aftermarket cooler next,I only hit mid 50'c in gaming with a thermalright silver arrow at 4.5ghz

Reading your original post if your at stock clocks your pc wasn't crashing due to heat,I'd put it down to an early bios or memory voltage not enough or a combo of both, stock Intel cooler should be fine for a non oc CPU

okay I set the vram voltage to 1.55, I am here so it hasnt caused a crash :)

where in the boards settings do I find the bclk/pci clock to set it to 100?

where do I find the PWM phase control?

where do i go to set my cpu voltage reponse to fast?

I am completely new to all of this. but i learn quickly. :)
Thank you for your patience and time so far.

Could you tell me in detail which settings i have to go through to get to the places i need to to change the settings you mentioned please?
I really apreciate your help.

heres my guide, just change those three things pci/blck to 100,cpu voltage response and pwm phase control

http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyt...-th-z77x-up5-th-overclock-settings-guide.html

it shows all the menus/pages they are in at the top of the bios page, they should all be in the m.i.t section

m.i.t/advanced voltage settings/3d power control for cpu voltage response and pwm phase control

m.i.t/advanced freq settings for pci/blck set to 100

I found everything, but 3 of the things I need to change are locked to auto

pwm phase control = stuck on auto

system memory multiplier is stuck on auto and is at 16.00

cpu vcore is stuck on auto at 1.55v

How do I unlock all of these so they can be changed? I noticed i could unlock the auto setting on other things.

Those settings are for 4.5ghz,and with a stock Intel cooler you won't be able to clock that high, are you using the plus and minus keys to adjust things? Set CPU voltage to normal pwm phase to extreme,CPU voltage response to fast CPU pci base clock to 100

You might need to set overclock to manual from auto to unlock adjustment

Okay so this is what everything has to be at.

dram voltage @ 1.55

Bcik/pci @ 100

CPU voltage response @ fast

pwm phase control @ exms

I just want to be clear about it so I do not get confused before i do more. I just don't want to mess up. where do I find over clock to set it to manual? sorry if any of these questions seem stupid, I just want to be 100% certain so i do not mess up.

It should display a range of speeds, pick 1600mhz I forget which page its on but its in one of those pics in that link I posted,I'm on my phone atm or I'd dig out the link

Okay in the system memory multiplier I typed in 21.33 and it ended up saying 2133mhz like in your picture on the other forum. However it ended up bringing up a screen saying failure to boot when I saved it and went to reboot my pc, so I had to go back and set it back to auto which puts it at 1600mhz. which it is at on default. about to check my ram to make sure its all working.

Edit: it is reading all 1600 of my ram.

Yh 1600 or 16x is what you should set,I have 2133mhz memory that's why I said only change certain settings as its a 4.5ghz guide, you only want to set dram voltage and few other things,if auto is setting 1600mhz ram then its fine on auto

How is now? Is it stable and does it crash in that game?

Not being funny, I think my GPU is dead mate.

I no longer get this screen but I am curious what will happen once i redownload the latest drivers. If it will revert to that or not.
