Just a friendly warning here. Corsair PSU's bought in the UK when they fail after the 1 year warranty you need to return them to Holland for RMA if Corsair give you an RMA number (they usually do automatically via email in a few seconds).

Just had my £130 HX750W Modular die totally whilst playing a game luckily it did not take any other components out just died but now naturally when looking into the RMA process as it comes with a nice juicy 7 year warranty (which is worthless IMO  ) I find that I must pay the shipping to Holland registered (around £40 because of the weight they are not light PSU's the cables alone weight a couple of pounds).

This is outrageous as it means you have to pay to RMA & get the free P&P on your RMA unit  so if you live in UK & buy a Corsair PSU be aware of this as if you get problems & need an RMA after the 12 months period its going to cost you a lot of money so you may as well buy a cheaper PSU in the first place as these are obviously not built to last as recently I have heard of a lot of failures on Corsair PSU's

No more Corsair purchases from me for sure  I had some Ram die suddenly as well a few months ago

Sign up to their forums. Ask for them to send a courier. They do so. Done. No cost, less hassle than posting your rant on here.

A seven year warranty is a sign that they think their power supplies are reliable. That nothing died when it failed is not "luck", it's a sign that Corsair put some thought into the failure modes of their power supplies. Far better an internal fuse than your motherboard.

Don't buy a cheaper PSU in the first place. It's more likely to fail young, less likely to be under warranty and more likely to kill other hardware when it goes.

+1 well said m8.

I have seen people on here return Corsair psu's to Holland via services like Parcelmonkey for £14-16. You don't have to use the Royal Mail. £14-16 is better than £120 for a new HX750.

Or you could have just contacted ocuk and they would have took care of everything which is why they are soooo great :)

Go E-tailer, I've recently had a bash at Corsair and their policy.
Their red leaflet thing tells you NOT to go to the reseller, think it's ludicrous.

In regards to them sending a courier? I wasn't at all offered that.

Corsair make (in my opinion) the best PSUs on the market. OcUK also as pointed out provide great after-care on these (when rarely needed)

I wouldn't buy a PSU from anyone else.

I've had problems with a corsair PSU in the past, although I did have to ship it to holland the posting costs weren't too bad and they offered me a complete replacement and even let me haggle with them so I got a higher wattage PSU to what they originally offered me. All in all I'd say their RMA service is decent but could definitely be improved with a UK based center

I've bought countless PSU's from them, only had one die and it did it gracefully. Only killed itself and not the rest of the system. -A cheap PSU often takes out other components with it.

It was a HX520 I believe, posted it to Holland, they sent me a HX650 (I think) back, great service.

I will continue to buy Corsair PSU's unless something drastic happens, you hear a lot of stories simply because they're so popular. There'll be hundreds of happy customers that don't post anything for each 'negative' post. If there was something fundamentally bad about them, OcUK would simply stop stocking/selling them

Depends who you buy from, I know the retailer I bought from will honour the full 5 year warranty of my TX650m through themselves and will give me a replacement while its on RMA.

Since my computer building started about 7 years ago, Ive bought about 15 corsair PSU's (for myself and friends) and none have died or even show any sign of doing so.

Surely you would have searched about RMA information before purchasing though?
