When you contact barclaycard ask to do a "Section 75" refund, that way, the retailer will be dealing with barclaycard's legal team rather than just you...
Wrong, the consumer credit act means that they and the retailer are jointly liable and you can go after one, the other or both (assuming the purchase was over £100 and under £some large amount and all or part was paid with a credit card), I'd tend to go for the retailer first though!
Said it before in other threads exactly like this on OCUK....
If it's been signed for, have you actually checked whether its been left anywhere around your property? Or whether it has been signed for by a neighbour?
I presume you've already done all that before even contemplating getting your bank to reverse the charge?
I'd certainly be going to the retailer first and I'd be reasonable about it, rather than making any threats about reverse transactions before they've had time to investigate. A chargeback should be the last option if they get funny with you.
Well you should give them 5 working days to reply, at the same time you should let the shop know that you never received it and you have sent dpd an email, they also should contact dpd. If you contact barclays you need to write them a letter with the amount and date of purchase and the steps taken.
That aside it helped me when a dodgy driver forged my signature.
When I raised it with the courier they asked how could I be sure it wasn't my signature I pointed out that A) my surname is double-barrelled and I wouldn't have signed just the second part and B) even if I did, I know how to spell it correctly!
