I've been looking at the new Samsung 840 Series Pro SSD's. And the Crucial M4's. I really don't have much knowledge of ssd's. What are the best on the market right now?
crucial m4 is a decent drive but have been surpassed by samsung in performance and reliability, the king is the ocz vortex but the 840 pro isnt far behind plus its a good £20 cheaper
samsung 830 256gb? next would be the 840 pro but thats abit more money and tbh i doubt youd wring out the max performance from it with a netbook so id go for the cheaper 830
theres all different options for those drives, just pick the cheapest bundle, all the ssd's are the same apart from the bundled software and mounting bracket that you wont need
yh the thing is the normal non pro 840 uses cheap tlc nand, the 830 and the 840 pro use better mlc nand
samsung are the first to extract such performance from tlc nand so only time will tell how long lasting it is,but you can pick that if you want,it should be fine

I was recently faced with same decision for my own laptop. I went for a 256GB Samsung 830, it was based on reasons it had the better MLC NAND, but more importantly the 830 has been on the market since 2011 and is tried and tested.
