That time of Year: Xmas bonus and pay rises

The wife got half a day messing around on Segways followed by a three course meal and drinks, then another day spent at a cookery course AND a £25 M&S voucher. I just got a Christmas party that was frankly crap, think I'm working for the wrong company!

Pay rise will be in Jan, probably the normal rate of inflation increase. But I'll be pushing hard for a proper pay rise and full review. Bonus was £5K, so well happy with that. Now need to find something to treat myself, its been a very busy year, so i deserve something very nice :D

I'm finding some of these numbers hard to believe, a 10% payrise at Xmas and then another 20% in April!!!!

I guess this also depends what kind of salary you're on in the first place, 30% of not much is still not much ;)

Payrises come in April, last year it was 2.5%, bonus was 15% (never feels like much after the bloody TAXMAN has had his 40% though)

Walked in the door at 7.30 am this morning, walked out 12.30.

Normal friday hours, you wouldn't know it's christmas.

Needless to say, nothing, nada... no thanks for the years efforts, 3 sundays + 30hrs each week overtime in the last month alone... 8/9 at night finishes, from a standing start of 6 am out the door.

Been doing that all year, or there abouts.

I love what i do, so roll on same ol'e next year:)

Ohh err, no rise... but then it's been 5 years since there was.... but overtime gets payed, lots of it:/

Private sector here and no pay rise or bonuses at Christmas, year end however..

Last year end I had 10% pay rise and a bonus equivalent to 1.5% of my pre-pay rise salary.

3.4% salary rise across the board. The year's overtime gets paid out at the end of the month.

As for the bonus; it's put into a pot. 50% is divided equally among all staff, then the other 50% divided by # of hours worked per week, adjusted a bit for pay band and length of service. I think the least anyone got out of it was £140. We try to keep it fair, since it's a bonus that only comes from everyone putting the effort in.

Christmas bonuses and pay rises  What are they?

I get nothing and they're not even letting us leave early today, even though no-one has done anything since 9/10 o' clock

I'm working on the 24th and the 25th, so you can't complain!

Should really be working this weekend to catch up on a slipping deadline.

Two bottles of cheap wine and that's it. Not even a thank you for the years work.

Oh and usually on a Friday we finish at 1:30pm, they decided to make everyone stay until 4:30 pm.

I left at 1pm

Well after 5 years of work I get NOTHING...

I have had a bonus 2 Christmas's out of the 4 (the first one didn't count as you need to have worked for 12 months) and the other year we had had a bonus in the middle of the year cause the company merged...

Really unhappy about getting a big fat zero extra this year. Me and the OH were sort of counting on having the extra money too

Really quite upset actually :(

You think some people are telling porkies? ;)
