Steam Christmas Sale 2012

It's to do with the initial cost of the game being different in different currencies, it's not exactly a big deal you just have to be careful.

It's not that, it's just that Steam always rounds down.

When the bundle discount is the same as the individual discount in terms of percentage, you're getting two round downs instead of one, hence being a penny cheaper.

£12.99 -75% = £3.2475 which should be £3.25, but Steam gives you £3.24.

Same with £9.99 = £2.4975 > £2.50 but Steam gives £2.49.

£22.99 only sees the effect once though and gives £5.7475, so £5.74. The above items though have both been rounded down, leading to £5.73.

Normally this isn't an issue because the bundle discount tends to be larger than the discounts applied to the all the individual items.

Nice one, just bought it. My list so far is:

Steam

Dead Island DLC- £0.69
Shogun 2: Dragon War Battle Pack- £1.21
Sim City 4 (gift)- £2.49
Devil May Cry 4- £1.19 (GMG)

Origin

BF3 Premium Service- £9.50 (GamersGate)

Does that Dead Island DLC include Ryder White and the Bloodbrawl Arena or w.e it's called? Otherwise a bloody good saving there, especially on BF3.

How much was it like? I dont think i have seen it any cheaper than £10?

The Walking Dead is the main game I'm after in the sale - anyone know what the lowest price is this has dropped to? I don't want to buy it at 50% and then it be 75% off tomorrow!!

What?

Changed now :D

I see your point as I do recall some pricing boo boo's on Steam before where a 'bundle' actually worked out more expensive.

Interestingly, that Stalker bundle is not really a good deal, granted it probably wont get any better in this Xmas sale now that it has become a flash sale but I got the 'proper' Stalker bundle that had all 3 games included for £5.19 in July 2012 on Steam! (cant recall which sale this was in though, was it the Autumn/Fall sale?)

So, at £5.74 for only 2 games, thats a bit cheeky of Valve.

Having said all this, Clear Sky that is not included is only £1.99 atm so its not really bank busting money to buy all 3.

Still a fair whack though, but tbh, I'd feel like ass paying any less than this for these, if they go down 99% to 30p each I won't care, brilliant games. (Except Clear Sky, on the fence cause I've never played yet hear its a mess).

Yeah I just went for the bundle + C.S., least thats 3 massive games for £7.73 I'll actually play. :p

I'm pretty sure that "The Walking Dead" has been available for £8.50 is in the past, but this was before all of the episodes had been released so it was more of a risk for buyers.

The Stalker series has been cheaper too but with GSC shutting down there is no real reason for the price to be that low any more.

I'm waiting for Fall of Cybertron to come up hopefully it'll have a decent discount.

Get the 'Complete Mods' for each game as it really improves many aspects, I believe its on the ModDB website.

Yeah I know about them, just iffy about whether I'd run them cause from what arc@ss has posted on here, the graphics look absolutely top notch.

:(

Thanks for this, worked out nice for me as traded in some Free games what Green man gaming gave out a while back so ended up paying 70p for Devil May Cry 4

Can't complain about 70p for the last of the Devil May Cry games tbh, Resident Evil 5 is £3.50 on there I think if you're interested, that's a steal too.

Yes, but the point I was making is that the bundle price depends on the local currency. I wouldn't be surprised if the bundle price for the stalker games was cheaper in USD than the two of them separately (an example which I can't be bothered to check :p).
