I've seen Dura Ace Chains for £29 not sure what difference there is to a cheaper 105 chain. I normally use KMC?

Also merlin have some great offers on DA 9000 groupset and 2011/12 SRAM Red is £800

Hello again...

Can someone recommend me a decent winter tyre and somewhere to buy it from? The Specialized Armadillo All Condition on my rear wheel gave up the ghost back in November, so I've now got the Armadillo from the front wheel on the back and a Scwalbe Lugano that my neighbour had lying around on the front. I'm planning to buy some new, lighter wheels and tyres in March, so this only needs to do me a couple of months and will then get dug out again next winter, but I'd like something that's reasonable in the wet and ideally with reasonable puncture protection. I know the usual suspects are the Specialized Armadillo (I can find this for £25 online) and the Continental Gatorskin (I can find this for £22ish online) but is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks...

Well I was hoping to do a 60 miler today, managed to bash out 83.5 miles in the end

 Well done.
How's the Festive500 going?
I still have 270k to go.
If i can get 50-60 done after work tonight then i might be able to do the other 220 at the weekend. Weather doesnt look great for the weekend, but at least it wont be cold enough for more ice.

Not too bad. Todays ride has put me up to 272km.

There's 3 days left, and I need to do an average of 50 miles per day.

I'm doing a 50 miler tomorrow, despite the weather looking terrible. Sunday I'll probably do the same route as today, and then finish off with a smaller ride on the 31st.

That's the plan anyway.....

The rain/wind has broken me. I've all but given up lol. Tomorrow is looking like 25mph winds and heavy rain. No thanks!

Sunday light rain all day, heavy rain in the evening.
Monday pretty much same as Sunday :(

Rain doesn't bother me, once you're wet....you're wet! But the constant wind REALLY gets on my nerves!

If only I could get dropped 100 miles south west of my house and cycle back the whole way with the wind! Bliss :)

my Park Tools chain scrubber seems to work wonders, cleaned the bike this week, and i finnished off the bottle you get with the scrubber, and i cant seem to be able to find it to buy another bottle, so whats a good alternative? ideally cheap as poss becuase it uses a lot! so looking for a big bottle

thanks

thank you. :)

It read like it was just my first boxing day 10 but it was my first time trial full stop! :)

I'm still chuffed with it even today. :)

21's next... lol

The rain/wind has broken me.

I loved the wind today!
Not great fun to cycle into, but it's blowing from the south and bringing up some really warm air.

My ride from wednesday night had an average temp of 1 celcius.
Tonight i had an average of 11 celcius!

guys, I've just changed the pads on my brakes but I forgot to note what way round they where!
they have little fins on one side, and are open one end, I'm guessing the open end faces the back of the bike and the fins point down? or am I getting this totally wrong?
