Steam Christmas Sale 2012

Thinking of buying Assasins Creed, I was wondering which game is the best to get or or should I buy the first few. Or go the whole hog and buy all the AC games.

I currently have AC1, 2 and 3. Just waiting out brotherhood and revelations to much cheapness :D

Well some people will say skip the first and go straight for the second, if you then go back to the first the faults will be even more glaring, so if you really want to play the first some time in your life before the second get it first along with the second and maybe Brotherhood and play them in order, wait for the third one to go cheap in a year or so.

I was in the same boat as you, I grabbed the collection in the last Steam sale and played through all of them in order before AC3 was released.

I then grabbed AC3 and finished that too. Never looked back, one of the best series I've ever played IMO.

They aren't Steam but they are all (including revelations) currently very cheap on amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...s=assassins+creed&sprefix=assa,videogames,218

Note that I wouldn't recommend AC3 until its down to a fiver; the worst yet, and takes an enternity to get going.

EDIT: Just noticed that steam have got them up for 75% off even though its not advertised on the main page (still cheaper on amazon though).

So is brotherhood and revelations relevant and worth getting just to complete the set?

I just picked it up as it has such high praise, including from pilots of the real life craft so it has to be worth it at £7.50.

Yep same! Downloading now, good price for £7.50 :)

Nice one thanks. What is Revelations and Brotherhood about? Are they sequels?

Im gonna go with AC1 and AC2. Unless Brotherhood and Revelations slot in between those two?

Also what is this "Season pass" for AC3?

I'll always champion E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy. Strange, and definitely obscure. Also downright confusing to start with.
£1-24 but with a free demo if you don't want to risk that!

Personally that looks over complicated to me.

Just add an american address against your credit/debit card in your 1-click settings.

Note use an address from a state that doesnt incur extra tax. I use a hotel address from Alaska.

In your amazon account is a link to "games and software". You can download games from here, and view your "product keys" to enter in to steam, origin etc.

It isn't over complicated, it is detailed to help avoid problems like using an address from a state that charges sales tax, opening US Amazon account etc. It is a step by step account, rather than just saying "add a US address to your amazon account".

Yeah they are sequels, AC1 > AC2 > Brotherhood > Revelations > AC3.

It's basically a DLC group-buy. Buying a season pass normally gives you access to most available DLCs at the time and also a number of DLC's that will become available at a later date. Most games these days have season passes.

I didn't get charged sales tax despite using a Californian address.
