Steam Christmas Sale 2012

I got it for 12 from cjs's Russian version. It's the first time i've ever bought a grey market game and I won't be doing it again. It plays fine but you need to be connected to a Russian vpn everytime you want to play it. Still it's a decent game but I'm not as into it as I was in the Fallout games.

Yeah I checked CJS because i have used them before and it has been fine. But I just went with Steam in the end, piece of mind ain't it :p

Far Cry 3 is **** anyway. Poor console port, with terrible textures and poor story. After initial 2 hours of hunting with the bow, you can easily delete it and throw it away.

Or another opinion is that it's many peoples contender for GOTY, and one of the best lookng games available. Can't deny that the story nose dives half way through, but personally doesn't spoil the overall enjoyment.

Thats just my opinion though, everyone else is entitled to be wrong :p

For me it was a massive disappointment and one of the worst looking games I played in 2012. Not even close to games like Crysis 2, Max Payne 3, Battlefield 3 or Witcher 2.

One of my top 3 games of the year, easily worth £20.

Just bought Mark of the Ninja, had my eye on it for a while!

Surely you're kidding? Playing the game its been one of the most impressive i've played in a while of late. Sure, if you want to run around pointing your screen 2 inches away from things i'm sure you'll find disappointment, but if close ups of leaves are your thing then maybe spend more time in the garden?

I found it a good game, not perfect, and visually pleasing.

Well so far.. I've bought

AOE3
Arkham Asylum
Bioshock
Bioshock2
Company of Heroes
GTA4
Hitman Absolution
SimCity4
Sleeping Dogs

And I haven't installed any of them because my internet is too slow :(

Its decent but I wouldn't call Far Cry 3 a contender for GotY...

Sure it looks quite nice and the story is enjoyable (at least so far) but some of the dialogue is laughable and there really isn't all that much to the island. It just doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Its just Just Cause 2 where, while there isn't that much variety when it gets down to it, the game is just designed to let you cause total destruction and was never serious about itself and its not like Fallout where the entire world is against you and skipping around without paying attention to your surroundings could potentially see you dismembered by a Deathclaw.
You can just waltz around the island. The only parts that pose any threat at all are areas where you haven't taken the Stronghold and that is mostly just isolated foot/boat/vehicle patrols. People criticised Fallout for feeling empty, whereas this game actually IS empty. Once you take a Stronghold there are no enemies but animals. Animal skins become irrelevant very quickly. The medical syringes are complete gimmicks because the UI is designed for consoles (and sucks anyway) so using them is just tedious (not that you really need anything but the basic healing syringe).

Plus after you've attempted to loot someone and picked up there useless gun for the 500th time you begin to wonder why they were so ****ing lazy they couldn't be bothered to put a separate button for swapping guns.

Saying that, what else has come out this year that is a contender for GotY ><
