Warranty on any of the M cars is pretty damned expensive though, especially in higher mileage cars.

Warranty is also only so good, if you need a car every day then having any car that breaks down is an issue, even if you get it fixed for free and get a courtesy car its a massive hassle if you find yourself stranded somewhere.

Something mechanical on an M6 (such as a gearbox fault) is unlikely to be fixed quickly either!

Of course only the original poster can decide if he can stump up the cash to continue the warranty :)
 
Hi there

For 30k I'd consider:-

GTR - Crazy fast and very capable, GTR interior is fine, won't loose much money now as 30k seems to see them levelling off.
CSL - a precision instrument, more less no depreciation and for nav buy a TomTom.
XKR - Huge power, great noise, pretty good drive.

Evora is nice but slower than 911 and not really any more capable, but a rare sight, it might fall bits too.

Another option, AMV8 gorgeous and sounds ace, but a bit lardy and slow, but another option for sure. :)

I would have got an M3 but I have had so many 335i’s I am a little bored of the E9x. I still have my E93 335i.

I use it everyday, I love the 911 but I should have got a Gen 2 so I will try out another car or 2 before I get another 911.

I really thought about this, I do like the new TT and would love to mod on to 400+ BHP but it just does not have the road presence I am looking for.

I know the one I am interested in is a 08 for only 32.5k, that’s a lot of car for the money.

CLS would be cool but too old now and the roads in sheffield are really bad, as a second car maybe but as a everyday car its just a little too much.

AMV8 - this is was very high up on my list, I think I would have this over the Maserati as I am more comfortable with the size however a low milage 08 V8V would cost me 5k more then the Maserati and I did not think its worth paying the extra as the Maserati is probably the better car.

Make sure you look at a 5.0 not the 4.2, nothing wrong with 4.2 but you budget will run to the 5 litre and it has lots more power, better mpg and the new interior :) also there is the option of the convertible. if you up this way can take you out in mine :)
