Ebay dispute

hes already got his money back iirc, its just your account is in negative and its been refunded temporally by paypal

Maybe he has from PayPal or Ebay, but not from us. The can put it into negative all they like. Thank fully I am not connected to the address on the account in anyway.

Their latest status on it is they have put the dispute on hold to do further investigation.

I have also asked for an expert, ie reputable model shop to email me or write to me listing the problems they believe it had.

So eBay and Paypal are completely useless now
Seriously I don't understand why some other online auction company has overtaken then popularity wise

I've had a similar issue with ebay/paypal

I suggest you read the recent terms and conditions you agreed to a few months ago. Paypal can now go into your bank account and take the funds out to refund the buyer. TRUST ME, THEY CAN!

Ebay ALWAYS side with the buyer, not the seller. If he has logged a dispute then the funds with now be in a holding account until it has been resolved.

Be careful as you might end up out of pocket.

This is why I am soon going to cancel my ebay and paypal accounts

Just got off the phone with them and they haven't even looked at the case. It seems their siding is almost automated. They are looking at the appeal process which could take up to 45 days. They did admit no matter what I do he is likely to win.

In the meantime my partner has cancelled her card on her account and made sure with the bank there is no other way Paypal can raid her bank.

The other thing is she has just realised the address on her Ebay account is one she moved from 5 years ago.

We will make it as difficult as we can for this clown to get his money back.

Nope, they will have refunded the money and will hound you via debt collectors from now on. Welcome to the world of Paypal.

They could if that account was listed with them which it isn't. Just a card which is now cancelled.

From what I recall from what others who have done similar on OCUK have said, you will just be hounded by debt collectors and they may eventually give up after a few years.

I thought that you didn't have to issue a refund until the item was recieved back, which he clearly wants to worm out of doing and realises will cost him money to do so anyway. If he doesn't use a tracked service, you could claim you never got it back. A bit underhand, but no different from how he has treated you.

However are you saying PayPal has already refunded him so they are now just chasing you for the money?
Ultimately you would still be entitled to the goods back before they should be trying to take any money as in line with any business or transaction.

The money will be marked in Limbo. Negative balance on your PP account but not positive on his. To get his refund he will be required to send it back by a tracked service which can confirm delivery.

As it is now marked for further investigation, you will stay in negative balance but he will also not receive his money back until it is complete. Chances are they will side with him unless you get an actual human being look at the case and see what has happened. Between the emails saying his son flew it into a tree, the positive feedback and difference in sent / broken pictures you might have a strong case. That will assume you get a human with an IQ over 80 to look at it though.

Good luck!

Paypal will still refund him with their own money, they'll attempt to take the money from you, since you've given them no option to they'll sell the debt onto some "debt collector"

They'll then harass for a few months down the line for the money you "owe".

That's what happened when I tried when some clown broke a 4870x2 I sent, I closed down my Paypal Account as soon as he E-mailed me saying it's knackered, I told him I'd RMA it if he sent it back, which he refused, he opened up the claim, and won by default obviously as my account wasn't active anymore.

He sent back the card when Paypal refunded him (Which I was able to RMA and then re-sell on) and then a few months down the line I started getting calls for money I owe, on the house phone and on my mobile at any time, literally hounding me, in the end I just gave them the 182 quid.

If they side with him, frankly it's a joke. Get in touch with the police about his threats as well.

I'd be surprised if they act on it, but it'll be on file at least.

Seems that way. A seller can only give positive feedback as well.

Unfortunately when sellers could leave bad feedback they would abuse the system and not give feedback until the buyer had, meaning if you had any problems they would just give you a negative back even if you'd paid within 10 seconds. I can kind of see why they stopped this although it's far from perfect now.

But to those saying "this is why I don't use eBay" - do we really need to hear this 100 times in every single thread about eBay? A lot of us use eBay for buying and selling without issue, or at least not enough to make it not worthwhile. It's like people who post in Facebook threads to say they don't use Facebook. no one cares if you use eBay or not, but thanks for telling us you don't anyway.

There are others out there, but they are useless to the majority of sellers. Ebid is one of them, until they actually have a 3rd party integration system (API) so I can use order management software with them, there is zero chance of me selling on there as a business (They have been promising one for about 3 years now). The fact is, eBay is the largest because it is the easiest!

Just thought I would update you on outcome.

The case has now been closed in my favour. This happened after a second call to ebay. Not surprisingly they had not read any of our emails and the responses were very automated.

I started the morning furious after I was asked by email to put myself in his position. So I phoned them and did. I can't think of a single shop who would let you buy an RC plane, crash it and let you return as it is now broken. Even that didn't hold much weight but the real clincher was he left good feedback two days after receiving item. That esculated our seller protection and closed the case on that merit alone.

Thank you all for your helpful input. I will now be much more cautious when selling on ebay again.

So if he held off with feedback last most do, he could have easily ripped you off?

sounds like Ebay is turning into Freebay for some buyers :/
