About 3-4 nights ago I woke up feeling my duvet being pulled off me in a folding motion and then put back as it was which freaked me out but I was so tired I just went straight back to sleep.
When I woke up in the morning I was left wondering whether it happened or if it was just dream I had woke up from.
btw it was the side off the bed up against the wall so its not like something could have been trying to get into bed with me which makes it even more bizarre...
I haven't been able to sleep at night since I'm terrified of going to sleep whilst its dark so I've been waiting until its started to get a bit light outside

Yesterday Whilst waking towards the kitchen door after making a cup of coffee and looking through the living room into the hallway I thought I saw a small girl standing sideways looking down the hall towards something out of my sight but after a few seconds I'm not sure what I saw if anything.

I had heard stories about the previous occupant of the house claiming to have saw the ghost of a small girl but never having any physical experiences as far as I'm aware.
My wife who I'm seperating from sleeps in a different room and claims to have saw a small girl standing at the base of her bed a few times (although she has sleep mental health problem anyway where she will see things that arent there or go about an imaginary task not realising shes awake so I dont know wether she did see anything ghostly or not)

I'm so freaked out tears started to run down my face after I started typing. :(

Anyone else had any odd experiences that may or may not have been a dream that left them freaked out?

once i had a dream that Battle Cat had walked in to my bedroom and I woke up and he was really there! Then that must have been a dream too because I woke up again, but this time there was nothing there. It was really spooky. True story.

No, it's a load of tosh.
Your probably suffering sleep depravation.
Original thing could have been sleep paralysis or along those lines.

I have been injected by ET doctors, seen a flaming Satan, room full of snakes amongst over things. But don't for one second believe it's anything other than sleep paralysis combined with hallucinations. There's several sleep disorders like paralysis which people experience together.

Sleep paralysis usually involves a feeling of pressure on you as if someone is sitting on you, so if it felt like the duvet was being pulled down on you then it could be that.

It wasn't sleep paralysis I used to suffer from that a lot years ago and I'm pretty sure I wasn't sleep deprived at the time.
It was the weight of the duvet being pulled off me that made me aware/awake and i distinctly remember the duvet falling back down after I opened my eyes.

I even lifted the corner of the duvet up to see it it would fall back down as it were because I was so convinced it wasn't a dream.

I think I would feel safer if I could convince myself it had actually happened lol :( it's not knowing when I lay in bed with pitch black darkness that freaks me out

Firstly, don't take these events so seriously.

It sounds like you are living in a very stressful and perhaps unhealthy household at the moment. Parapsychologists would undoubtedly point to this as a major contributing factor to your experiences and something that could be clouding your rational judgement.

Secondly, anything experienced during the night - especially when falling into or waking from sleep - must be taken cum grano salis UNLESS you have some kind of reliable, corroborative evidence. Google the terms 'hypnopompic' and 'hypnogogic' for some interesting reading why this is the case.

The sighting of the child in the hallway might simply be what's sometimes called 'corner-of-the-eye phenomenon' or entoptic phenomenon, but if it has happened to other people it suggests a more objective factor is at work. This factor might not necessarily be supernatural so try not to get yourself in a state about it! It could one of a million different things, such as infrasound emitted from an electrical appliance (to our ears, undetectable sound waves that can affect our vision and make objects move of their own accord) or the effects of an electromagnetic field somewhere in the vicinity. There are plenty of studies into these floating about the net if you want to read more - I think even NASA has dipped its toe into it.

All perfectly scientific things.

If there is something genuinely unexplainable happening, keep us updated. :)

I have massive problems sleeping and I see things that aren't there in the corners of my eyes all the damned time so I know how distracting it can be when you just see the flash of an image, when I do manage to sleep I've woken up before now with my duvet in knots, the filling taken completely out of the cover and all sorts of weird stuff, but it's just me doing it in my sleep, the less sleep I get, the more stressed I get about not sleeping which leads to even less sleep, it's a vicious circle.

It's definitely not a ghost and even if you manage to convince yourself it is, what's a little girl ghost going to do to you?

I feel another film going to happen!..

I have once. I used to work in a shoe shop when i was 18, I went up stairs to get some stock in the far back room.
I felt if like someone was watching me and started to get a cold feeling down my back!, I turned around and there was nothing there!,
Next thing i know there was a loud bang! i turned arond the some of the stock had fallen on the floor!.
Some people say the wind but it wasnt as all the doors and windows was shut. I went downstairs and
told my manager what had happen and his replied was "oh you have met rosie, that the girl ghost we have".
I went home that night and did some googling and it turned out there was a fire there back in the 60's where a girl had died!.

Another one!.

When my little girl was about 2years old! (4years ago). She came running into our room screaming, and i mean screaming for her
life it scared me and my wife at time!. She said there is a man in my room!, I got up and ran into her room and checked
went down stairs check there was no one there the whole house was locked up. This happen for about a week every night about 2am
in the morning we asked her what did he look like and as she described him i knew who she was on about!.
i googled "roman solider" and showed her a picture of one and she screamed thats the man!.
At the time lived at the bottom of colchester castle park,
and colchester is the oldest recorded town and known for romans.
After awhile he stop.

Nothing has happen every since (touch wood)

I never belived into the ghost ect ect but now i've sort of had it happen to me and my little girl...........

I've been reading your book the last couple of days, very interesting stuff!

OP, I think you need to relax. I have seen people work themselves into a total frenzy based on believing paranormal events were unfolding (while at boarding school) it became totally self fulfilling and shared by several people.

As much this could be easily explained it still scared me at the time.

I played pokemon Blue for about 14hrs straight i would say, and i had just finished up and it was late at night. I walked into my bedroom which has a large window on the other side from the door, since it was dark i could see the reflection inside the room.

As I walked in i could see myself in the window as well as a man standing behind me in a smartly dressed suit. I immediately recognised him as being Giovanni, 8th Gym leader and head of Team Rocket. When i turned around no one was there, nor was he reflected in the window again, So i did the smart thing and left...

My only concern with my brain is that i saw a full sized man in the window, who looked like Giovanni. However, I had never truly seen him before, I had only seen his sprite within a gameboy colour game. So it always makes me feel weird when i look into that window at night.

The fact that you're seeing and feeling these things after being told about previous occupants and having sleep problems to begin with indicates it's more in your mind than paranormal.

I would suggest looking at it logically, you're doubting if what you saw was even real so you're part way there already.

If ghosts were real then we'd know about it, not hope to see a glimpse on Ghost Hunters TV shows but instead see random gasps as people on the show feel "a cold area of the room".

That is hilarious :D. Of all the things to be frightened by.

Agreed. Those stupid haunted shows actually prove conclusively every time that there are no ghosts since they have never filmed one. If things like ghosts and psychics were real, they would be aknowledged as so throughout society by now.

Probably the origin of the German word for nightmare, albtraum - elfdream. They believed nightmares were caused by elves which sat on your chest. There are a few paintings of it. They look more like what we call goblins these days.

Sleep paralysis. It can do mental things. When I was working nights I suffered from it every night, had some truly disturbing and terrifying experiences and I can see what people think it's ghosts.
