anyone ever had a ghostly experience ?

Dear God, I wish I'd known this Roberto as I'd have loved to include a quote from you as Wymering Manor is one of the chapters in my most recent books. :)

Very interesting place.

Many thanks, sir. <3

I still haven't read your book yet, shamed to admit! Soon... soon :o

And damn, missed out on getting a quote published!

Never seen anything although always been interested in the paranormal, there are too many fakes in the internet/photoshop age though and people see a lot of things due to trick of the eye/compression artifacts.

I think the best explanation I've heard for paranormal experience is electromagnetic/infrasound interference on the brain/nervous system, at the end of the day everything we see in the external world has to first go through nerves to be processed by the brain so if something goes a bit haywire there due to interference or fatigue or whatever, I would imagine it's possible to see (or at least think that you see) things which are not really there.

Either that or the whole spirit world thing is real. :p

I'm a light sleeper and have very vivid dreams and sometimes I wake up thinking 'Did that happen?' but after a second I know it was a dream.

Yep In my old house my daughter claims there was a little girl who wouldnt let her get to sleep as she was playing. in her bedroom.

We thought nothing of it but as i was lying in bed i could hear things downstairs. More often than not it was the sound of the gas fire being lit as it clicked quite looudly as you turned the knob. Then we statred hearing footsteps on the stairs. Was scary stuff. Never ever saw anything until we started to recedcorate.

Found a name and date under the wallpaper upstairs, found out it was a young girl who used to live there.

As we started to decorate downstairs the noises became more frequent and i began to smell perfume. Almost like how youd expect an old persons perfume to smell.

One afternoon i was on my PC, typing just as i am now and i mustve sensed something behind me and i turned round and saw a girl standing there pointing at the chimney breast.

Wed already stripped the paper off it and we could see the brickwork had been disturbed and replastered, probably when the central heating was fitted and the back boiler removed. Spooked me for a few days and eventually i looked inside the chimney breats just to check there was no body in there :p

Never saw or heard anything after that.

I also bilieve iv captured the image of a ghost in a picture as i was taking pictures in my old school. There was only me in there and it wasnt long before it was demolished. I'll see if i can find the photo :)

That photo...did you take it because you thought something was there, or did you just notice an anomoly afterwards? If after, it is perhaps pareidolia. Can GD's experts make the image more clear?

Don't worry: it is rather niche and not to everyone's tastes! I've been toying with doing something on UrBex because that (and the photography that goes hand-in-hand with it) is truly fascinating. Not sure what, though. If I ever do I'll let you know. :)

I have exploding head syndrome so loud crashes as I drop off are so common I ignore them.

On a side note OP, sounds like a sucubus come to inspect your fleshy dangley bits ;)

I'd be more concerned about the ghost on the left of the photo:

I posted in the previous "spooky things" thread about numerous voices I've heard, things being moved around, banging on windows, and things going missing at my fathers old house. But at the weekend my mum admitted to me why she recently sold her house recently; apparently her and her husband started seeing a shadow in several of the rooms and it was getting larger over time.

I work in a hotel doing night shift. Had a few guys over the years come down stairs with various levels of fear in them. A few moved rooms and some just calmed down and went back to the room first given.

Over all I would say its all in the head and dependent on the person.
