Royal Fail, fake delivery!!!!!

Was to wait in today to accept delivery of a new graphics card which was sent via Royal Fail Special Delivery, came downstairs at 7:45 as the GF was up getting ready for work & noticed the red "Something for you" card on the door mat stating delivery attempted at 7:15am and immediately thought it odd that neither of us heard anyone knock.

Theought it would be a good idea to check the CCTV that mr postman obviously didn't spot.

Watched 7am-7:30 no mr postman, very odd. So watched earlier.

He pulled up at 6:40am, goes in the back of his van for his little satchel thing they carry around, walks down the drive & stands at the door for about 4 minutes without knocking playing about with something that's lit up then pops the card through the door & wanders off, chucks his satchel thing on the passenger seat & drives off, to me this means no delivery was attempted.

I've phoned the local office to no avail as nobody answers, do you reckon it's worth driving into town & attempting to park in a pay & display as it looks like he didn't have the parcel with him, so i'm guessing it never left the office?

Similar thing happened to me only I paid extra for next day delivery. The Postman had no intention of delivering the item-in fact he didn't even have it on him. He just walked up to the door and pushed a card through and tried to do a runner when I caught him. He tried to claim that the item was placed back on the van in the few seconds I took to open the door.
Suffice it to say an argument ensued back at the delivery depot.

I work for royal mail and that's not right give me the first part of your postcode an will try and get the direct telephone number of the delivery office manager do you can complain directly

And by the way we are not on a lot of money

Woman in the post office basically lied to me & said she knows who the guy is and he didn't leave the depot until 7am. CCTV must be screwed then as i'm sure it was a van he came in and not a DeLorean! I asked for the cost refunding and she said no can do as it's not 1pm, she didn't seem to understand that me collecting it isn't a delivery!

I'll upload the footage but I need to try & cut the file down & get it off the DVR somehow as it's 649mb.

Not doing it just yet though as i have a new graphics card to play with......:D

No it was pitch black, but it has semi decent night vision.
I mean, if she purports he was there at 7:15, use the light level (if there's anything at the real 7:15) to prove it wasn't 7:15 :p

The light levels will be almost identical tomorrow so you can make a 'proof' recording of light levels if necessary.

The people in the office will stick up for their own when it blatantly obvious what they have done. In my case they said once the parcel is back in the van that's it, I said so he can put the parcel back in his van as hes carding me and I'm opening the door at the same time, she basically called me a liar.

Not easy to do because the picture is quite bright & in black & white, as soon as it starts to get light enough it switches into full colour & the image changes quite a bit.

I suppose you can see how long it is before that happens, it aint gonna help here that the time stamp is an hour and 21 minutes out as it doesn't adjust for DST itself & the clock isn't that accurate on it, it's not been adjusted for about a year.

I've had several instances where RM special delivery people have forged my signature and then left the parcel outside the house. The worst time was when getting something delivered to work they forged my sig and left it on the street in the middle of the morning in Nottingham City Centre, it was a couple of hundred quids worth of gear as well that someone thankfully saw and brought it up to the office, something that the delivery bloke CBA to do obviously.

Whilst I agree that for the OP that kind of behaviour by the RM delivery driver was poor, I can't help but notice so many people over reacting about missed deliveries on forums. Do we need a thread each time a delivery is missed? I'm shocked that people take annual leave sometimes to be in for a delivery. I mean...wtf? Just miss it and then go down your local depot and collect the next day at a time convenient. Or get it delivered to someone who will be in, preferably your/a persons work address where someone is always there to sign on the backdoor or reception.
Couriers and RM are rubbish. We all know that. Had been that way for a while. Get over it?

heh?

We are not talking about not being in for delivery, we are talking about blatantly being in for delivery and not delivering due to being very lazy or not having the parcel with them.

1. I'm not on A/L for a delivery, i've had the 21st Dec - 7th January off for Christmas.

2. I've paid for a service that has not been fulfilled, next time I go out for a meal and they forget to bring some of it to the table should i just get over it.

The point is they didn't even attempt to deliver, i've paid for a service thet their staff had no intention to carry out, and even lied about it afterwards saying that they did.

Why do we pay £9.75 for special delivery when they have no intention of delivering it?

Exactly this! They must be carding people so they don't have to hand out compensation for deliveries they cant make.

They card you, put the next day on the back and voila they have 2 days to deliver you next day special deliveryl. Makes the numbers look good too

Can we see the video.

It was someone else that 'lied', maybe they got mixed up. The best thing to do is to wait until you are not angry, then contact one of the managers there, they can then talk to the postman.
