Is/will the 16GB still available on the high street or online? can only seem to find the 32GB version, and 1 store doing the 16GB for £189  rather pay the £10 more for the 32GB version. 16GB is more than enough for what i need so would rather save the £40...

Bear in mind the OS takes up a but if space. IIRC you only have about 12GB usable, but with the 32GB version, you have 28GB.

decided to try and get mine fixed because of speaker distortion

it was purchased at dixons at heathrow so do i need to go through dixons or direct to asus?

anybody done this

depends on how long you have had it. if less than 14days or what ever dixons policy is then sending it them.

i wanted to send mine back to ****** but it was over a month so they said send it asus

On the subject of speakers, does anyone find the max volume level really low?

My missus got me a 32GB one & case for christmas. I have not really gone looking for issues and slapped it straight into the case. I never thought I would use it but its hardly been off. Mediahouse pro makes very good use of may nas, but volume on all media is very low. I thought it may be my encodes, so I watched the free Ice Age from the play store and volume level on that is also low.

A quick google and it seems I am not the only one, but its not as bad as some are reporting, Its just a bit low. I can watch a movie with headphones and max volume is just about loud enough.

Can I use a volume booster app without damaging the device?

The volume is just about ok IMO, but the quality is horrible. Media sounds pretty bad even vs. my Nexus S (using a pair of B&W C5 plugs).

Bit of a shame as I was going to use it as my primary player for music... no chance that's going to happen now :(

I use mine to listen to the radio while doing the dishes! The volume isn't great to be honest and it's not really loud enough to do anything else while trying to hear it.

Ive got one on order for pickup tomorrow, weve got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 at the moment but I can never got on it as the wife uses it all the time so thought for the price it would be rude not to :)

anyone having problems with wifi , it seems i need to be sitting on top of my router to get full link speed if i go upstairs it drops to like 1mb

Sorry, couldn't find how to start a new thread! Has anyone tethered the N7 to an HTC Wildfire. Am considering getting the standard wifi N7 and wondered if it would work?

Did the same with my HTC phone at the weekend. If and when I take my Nexus 7 out, ill have my phone with me so it makes sense to use the tethering :)

Sending my N7 off for repair, having those screen lift issues. I'm hoping that they replace it as there's a small scratch on the frame just above where the screen starts, which doesn't have any effect on the performance, it's just really REALLY annoying -_-

CEX have a 12 month warranty on everything they buy don't they?

Give the Asus support site a bash though, all I did was enter my date of purchase withough providing POP and it went through ok.

They haven't been out a year yet either, so even though you got it second hand it'll still be in manufacturers' warranty. Worth a punt, no?
