For a long time, since when I can remember i've had a strange vision sensation - yesterday I learnt it's name. It's called "Visual Snow" in which it always seems that i'm looking with static everyday all day.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has this, to get an idea of what it looks like see the gif below. It's not as bad as the image and if I don't concentrate on it I don't normally see it.

edit: image not working here, see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Red-blue-noise.gif

Does anyone else have this?

Very mildly. As you say if I don't concentrate I don't notice and even then I have to be looking at something "plain" and bright in colour.

During the day I don't see it too much, but at night with the dark it's much more noticeable

But but... Daylight is light!

Oh you meant actually seeing through the dark.

I'll shut up.

if your profile age is correct, i dont think you should have this at 22.

i have had this since my mid thirties, and it has got slightly worse since then, (44 now)

i know it has the do with the blood flow in the vessels in the eyes, and what your seeing is the actual flow in your eyes, this is made worse by high blood pressure

Yes, I have that. Like you say, it's only really noticeable if you concentrate. I also have Keratoconus so without glasses I have double vision.

Had it since young, i'm wondering if looking at computer screens has made it more prominent.

I see it in very dark conditions, as in when going to sleep at night. And also now when looking at my monitor after looking at that wiki image :p

I get it but thought it was normal when looking at very dark areas in streets and so on, I don't get it in the day?

But also, medical thread, ban the Don. :p ;)

I'm not alone!!!!

I have exactly this same issue and thought I was the only one. It's not so bad now and hasn't been for a long time but when I did my final exams at uni it was severe. I basically put it down to stress.

Pretty much always had it, I only see it when looking at the sky in daytime or when looking at something thats white.

I forget I have it sometimes then I look at the sky and its depressing. And I'm mildly worried its getting worse aswell (eye problems on my mums side of the family).

I didn't know what it was called until now, I do remember going to the optician and desribing to him I see "tv static" all the time but he didn't take a blind (haha) bit of notice.
