mine has left the depot and should be delivered today.

this thread is huge is there anything specific I should be getting or doing when I first get the phone?

Yes, first thing every Note 2 owner should do is double tap the home button to go in to S-Voice, bring up the settings for S-Voice and turn off the double tap to launch.
By default, when you press the home button it waits nearly a second before taking you to the home screen just in case you might press it again.
 
just got mine :)

such a mess with orange, i left orange, transfered my number to virgin, and then ill transfer it back to orange. was the only way to get a good deal ..

I recently got a 32gb micro sd card but for me personally its kind of useless since my apps take up the most room and they all install to the internal card and even using a third party program i couldn't manage to transfer them across to the Micro SD. Everything else about this phone is awsome though..even gaming with the touch screen controlls which you soon get used to. Im loving broken sword 2 and GTA vice city on this thing, I don't really see the point in using a ps3 controller for the games as i mazewell just play them on the ps3 i have or pc....and im not going to take a controll pad out with me so its fine with just the touch screen.

i believe there is a way to do this (rooting your phone) , someone else will hopefully confirm how

for me, its for music, photos and video

yeah my phone is rooted and i tryed it with the apps2SD program but only a couple of apps where compatable to move across and all the large file ones it wouldn't let me lol. The one thing it has been good for is music though as i use deezer since i get the orange swappable with my contract and have downloaded about 5gb worth of albums which have all gone on the Micro SD card. Apps take up the most room for me though and im at the point where if i want to install new ones i have to delete some.
 
I believe gl to sd is the app that you're looking for. The other solution is doing a directory bind. If there are any other ways, i'm sure someone else will chime in.
 
So I got one of these today, it's ridiculously big, but it's also awesome :D.

Gonna root in a sec (CF-Root still the best way? cba with the exploit apk since I'll need to use Odin to flash a recovery anyway), what's the best stock based ROM, Wanam?

Also what are the most popular themes? I see mrk mentioned an AOSP one, is that the paid one from XDA? for themes I mainly just want a black status bar, and blue toggles tbh (maybe some different toggles, too), generally once I've changed the launcher it's only the toggle colours I dislike with TouchWiz.

It's so tempting to download ParanoidAndroid for the phablet mode which was awesome on my S2, but it was horrible and buggy/terrible battery on that so don't want to :(. Someone needs to add that to stock ROMs :p.

What's the best notification LED app too, Lightflow or Light Manager? Never had a notification light before, time to see what all the fuss is about I guess :p.

Edit: Oh, and I assume the stock messaging app still converts SMS to MMS after 3 messages? If so can someone link a working APK for whichever ROM I'm going to be flashing please :p.

Directory bind is by far the best solution. Re bind the Android and gameloft folders.
 
That worked like a charm i have 8.35gb of space now on the internal card i only had 2gb before i moved those 2 folders to the external sd. Thanks for that.
