Hi,

Anyone fancy glancing into their crystal ball and casting an eye over what it's going to take to run Crysis 3 at 2560x1440? I've got a GTX670 and will probably add a second, but at top settings I'm not convinced that will be enough at this res!

I also can't believe the price I paid for my KFA OC is... identical now to what it was when I bought it 7 months ago, worth holding out for a decent price drop before going SLI?

Metro: last light is coming too... might have to sell up and go dual 7970 :D

Personally I don't think Crysis 3 will be anywhere near as demanding as is being made out... but right now it is impossible to tell and not worth speculating. Are your 670's the 2 or 4gb versions? 2GB cards might struggle at that resolution in general with things turned up to high.

Doesn't it use the existing Cryengine 3? if it does then just load up Crysis 2, install the DX11 texture pack and have a look.

yea it does... it's just a Crysis 2 expansion game..... it's Crysis 2 with a bow and arrow plus a few house plants thrown in :D

a better game might be Bioshock infinity, ghost warrior 2/ Rainbow 6 patriots

The Crysis series is now designed for the console market so it will be no different to Crysis 2 with DX11 mod.

They broke the mould back in 2007 with the original was released and set a benchmark for game developers on PC's.

Unfortunately they have now tried to mirror the COD release schedule and have thus ruined a promising series.

I thought Crysis 2 was very disappointing.

But to answer your question I would say it would run ok but I probably wouldn’t expect to run it at max at that resolution.

Yeah, lets face it, it may max out current console hardware, but probably wont be taxing on a mid range pc system.

Just another console port with a few fancy graphical options.

I played Crysis 3 Alpha and it brought my PC to its knees @ 5760*1080. Maybe badly coded (it was an alpha) or maybe that is what to expect. Game looks very good though and I will be getting it :)

Yeah it had my 670 struggling at 1080p, although it was alpha without optimisations from the driver end also. 670 SLI will run it fine mate!

It will be a little more demanding than Crysis 2. It will probably have a few new settings that make hardly any visual difference but give you a 50% drop in framerate.

If its little more demanding than Crysis 2 DX11, i can max that @ 1080P on a 7870.....

This will be the 3'rd in the series and the 3'rd time they claim you will need the best of the best hardware.....

Think I'll go SLI then, must be a price drop coming soon though so I'll wait for that. Or a 670 that includes a copy of the game :)

i expect to be able to play it fine on my 7970 @ 2560x1600 with AA on 4x

actually looking at the tech demo (if its going to be like that) i may have to borrow a second 7970 ;O
