Is this ok?

What sort of overall budget do you have for the PC? Sorry if this has already been answered :)

While the Trinity is good for a cheap build because of its IGP I'd reccomend an i3 with a Z77 board plus something like a 7850 as a dedicated GPU. While it will be more expensive it will be well worth it IMO.

Something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC Windforce 2X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ FARCRY3, Sleeping Dogs & Dirt Showdown PC Games £155.99
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £89.99
1 x Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £79.99
1 x BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black £46.98
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) £44.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020058-UK) £38.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £35.99
1 x Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £17.99
Total : £525.00 (includes shipping : £11.75).

EDIT: Only noobs forget to put the CPU in ;) Its about £100 more than the Trinity spec but both CPU and graphical performance is improved.
Double edit: Hono is that from a film shown before my generation was born? :p

Thanks, but what I need this pc for...i think the first build has it covered. Thanks though.

Never heard of the i4 ;)

Nope and you've never heard of rhyming slang which is worrying. Ask your dad to borrow Lock stock and two smoking barrels or snatch.....you'll love it just make sure you put the subtitles on ;) Luckily the OP lives close enough to London town to understand my lingo :)

Looks like he knows what he wants now.......it's been emotional lol

*heads straight to torrent* ;)
If I tried to use the language down from where I live I would be stoned to death besides :o

Oooh arrrr theres a carrr comes to mind.

I did not just see the word "Unscrupulous" used in the film description of snatch :D

Was wondering what you would recommend if I stretched my budget out a little, If i went to £500 (inc VAT and postage) what would you recommend?

OS, keyboard and mouse not needed.

Lies!!!!

I never spec that case......I hate it....oh wait you changed it that makes more sense lol

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD A10-5800K Black Edition 3.80GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor (AD580KWOHJBOX) £95.99

1 x Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H AMD A85X Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £64.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £49.99
1 x BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black £46.98
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G186C9K) £41.99
1 x Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £17.99
Total : £411.01 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Someone will say the RAM is too slow but it should OC to 2133mhz or just get the Adata kit for a little more. PSU is modular for a little more and is in stock.

+1

Will this RAM be ok Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance Memory Module CL10 ok with this motherboard? Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H AMD A85X Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

I'd stretch the extra £25 on that and go for Bacon's build personally.....then if you wanted more performance later on stick an i5 3570k and OC at a later date.

Personally i'm not to keen on the Shinobi :p

All down to personal pref's ;)

To the OP:

Hono's build looks great though, and the Shinobi is a solid and tidy case, but the case is personal prefs of course. I will only argue someones choice of case if I have had bad experiences with one (as Hono has with the Bitfenix Alpha) or if it has truly bad build quality or lack of good airflow.

I can vouch for the Xigmatek Alfar, worked with one recently, great little case. Good build quality, nice bundled fans, USB 3.0, great cable management features etcetera. But I know Hono dislikes it :D

Hi,

Thanks for all the help, i've ordered the following so far;

£54.16 x 1 - Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H AMD A85X Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
£36.66 x 1 - XFX Pro 450W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
£24.99 x 1 - Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K)
£39.15 x 1 - BitFenix Shinobi "Core" USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black

Getting the rest from another place, since it's cheaper.

You want faster RAM than 1600mhz ideally for the FM2 socket, this helps the IGP for gaming performance.

The shinobi "core" case doesn't come with any fans and no mesh or badge. You need to change your order really fella. I wish you had posted before you bought the kit :(

The other was out of stock :(

I've already got a few fans to put in it, and i do not care about the mesh or badge.

Not a complete disaster then. I used the Shinobi as it was on offer at the time. The viper RAM kits overclock quite well so you might well be able to push the 1600mhz kit a little harder with overclocking. I would have ordered a faster kit from the get go though.

I think it will be fine for Minecraft and a few strategy games :D

I can always upgrade the RAM in a month or so.

With a proper size case and a semi-decent PSU, just curious for pretty much around the same cost of £100, which of the following options would you guys go for?

a) A10-5800K (£95) - capable of ok gaming performance up to 1680 res

or

b) Pentium G640 SandyBridge dual-core 2.80GHz (£50) plus 2nd hand 6850 (£45-£60) with a total cost of just £95-£110 - capable of ok gaming performance up to 1920 res, with both the CPU and graphic chip of superior gaming performance?

I know which option I would go for...

The a10 was what everybody recommended me when I asked. Take it up with them :p

Marine he took my AMD spec from another thread. I often do suggest people try and find a 2nd hand 1GB 460 and go intel, I've lost count how many times I've suggested it.....of course this is providing one can be found 2nd hand.

The A75/85 mobo is "better" than intels H61 and the A10K is on par with the i3. For budget gaming rigs I do suggest i3 on a entry level Z77 and a 2nd hand 460 (the 7770 is poor value as I often say) but ultimately it comes down to the budget the OP has.
