Job Centre threatening to stop my benefits.

You spend your money on a portable gaming console AND a Galaxy S3 and you still complain when your JSA is taken away?

Awaits argument about requiring these things for a standard of modern living.

To me JSA should be used to help people that actually require it. And from your posting history you do do not. You most likely could get a job, but wont due to laziness or having too high standards.

Hate to sound blunt here mate, and if its not painfully obvious from the tone of my reply, but your constant BS threads make me sick. As I hope some others would agree.

And yes I could just not read them .... I mean I only really have myself to blame for sitting here angry at your latest episode.

But for some reason I do get a sweet satisfaction out of hearing about your train wreck of a life.

Yes I got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

CARRY ON!

Gets job seekers allowance...

spends it on a PS Vita

Then complains that his JSA has stopped

nice

* awaits " oh my friend/dog/sister/dad gave me it"

Just noticed he has a Galaxy S3 as well. Lol.

Can't see how that is relevant seeing as he worked for those items? Would it have been more prudent to set that cash aside..probably, but he earned it, so he can spend it.

I am trying to get a job, I was turned down my ASDA (took my piercings out) as I was 'overqualified'. Sorry!!

What? How about he used that money to support himself rather than relying on handouts from the government and buying expensive gadgets?

Lol Musty Pie bringing out the flamethrower!

If i ever resume life on the dole, i hope mine doesnt get stopped :O

You cant be overqualified for a supermarket role.... especially at your age? Unless you gave them the impression that you are not looking to stay full time and would move on to finer pastures at the first opportunity.

I am pretty sure that's just something they tell you when you are not what they are after.

Hey I could be wrong though. It wouldn't be the first time.

I guess I should not spend any money I earn doing anything, just work and not use the money. Not having a pop at you, but it's winding me up how people say I shouldn't spend this on that and what not while I work.

I make ends meet on JSA but it's far from a fantastic life, I am desperate for a job but I ****** up at school AND college and subsequently have next to no qualifications so sorry for not being able to get a £50K+ a year job like ALL you lot must have judging by the ability to denote what others should and shouldn't buy.

I have 4 years standard retail experience and 1 year supervisor. I then have some HGV experience but no longer have a license due to a stupid evening on the M6 in a Porshe (not mine, my neighbours, he was in the car also).

ASDA asked what my career prospects were and I told them I would like to move up the internal ladder if I was given the opportunity to work for them.

How can you fail to see what is wrong here?

You are getting benefit from the government, yet still spending £100's on premium smart phones and portable games consoles. If you are earning enough to truely be able to buy these items with what you have earnt then why are you on benefit? If you got your Galaxy S3 in August then the cheapest it could be bought in total over a contract or outright would have been about ~£500. A Vita with presumable a few games? Another £200 + .

JSA isnt there to pay for all your food/living expenses e.t.c whilst you ***** what you actually earn on expensive gadgets. It is there as a safety net in case you actually cant afford to feed/house yourself.

What is wrong with a £10 a month contract? or Pay as you go?

You did say that you were overqualified for the job in the supermarket, yet you then said you have no qualifications? .... What does that say to you? To me it says you are unemployable for other reasons. Its possible image could be one of them. Just something to think about...

Whilst your answer in that interview question is not an incorrect thing to say, it is all context based. Without knowing what you are interviewing for its hard to give you advice but I will try.

If you were interviewing for a shelf filling role as an example, yet told them you would be store manager in 3 months time they would be thinking this guy is expecting way too much from this role etc and blow you off, and not in the good way.

At your age, and lack of qualifications you should take ANY job you can get to get off JSA.

I find it REALLY hard to believe that you couldn't walk into a fast food chain and get a job, or a Bar, or any form of retailer. Its just a case of wanting the job enough to get it.

Find a rock/metal themed pub, they won't have any issues with piercings then :p

Jaffa_Far showing the flaws in our benefits system once again, aren't you giving your dad any of your JSA for food and bills?

JSA is to support yourself whilst you look for work, if your dad is supporting you, you don't actually need it.

To me it looks like you're just frivolously spending it on things you could do without.
