*****JOB VACANCY - SHOP FLOOR ASSISTANT / PHONE ADVISOR*****

Plus the overtime don't forget, sounds like there will be plenty!

Tempted to apply being a local bod already in the trade - just for an awful company! :)

Awww man, id love this job :( cmon....make a south Wales branch, I know of a few people that would happily work for you (including me) :p

Why wouldn't it be? They are just standard hours.

my standard hours are 37 a week. everything else is overtime.

If we want to go over 45+ hours though we had to sing something to say that we were OK with it and not being forced to though.

I believe the only rules are something like you have to have 12 hours between shifts and have to have at least 1 day off in 11.

Please open down south!

there not gonna open any other shops are they.

In store sales are probably 20% of there total sales.

If you buy off the shop now posted to yourself and they open a store by you your not going to buy from stoke are you anymore you going to walk into the shop down there.

They are not going to get any more sales as your still buying from them but they now have to re-stock another shop, rent on building and wages down there for no extra money.

They might gain an extra 10% sales from random people who won't buy online walking in. Means no extra profits for them but extra costs.

Lol'd

PCworld staff are just amazing, its fun going in and torturing them with questions they can't answer.

I let some sales chap almost sell my Mam an expensive HDMI cable once. Then just as she was about to purchase it I went over and said you don't need that. He was livid. :D

I went in and asked for an internal USB 3.0 to USB 2 adapter. He stood there scratching his head for a few minutes, and said "here you go, this will work". It was an internal usb card, not an adapter.

The Working Time Regulations state that you can only work a maximum of 48 hours per week over a 17 week reference point. There must be 11 hours daily rest between daily shifts and you must have 24 hours rest per week. Your going over hours thing may have something to do with the national insurance your employer has to pay. I know a lot of retailers recently cut people's down to a maximum of 16 hours to save money on national insurance. There's some kind of additional liability of they go over 39 hours I believe although I'm not too clued up on tax/insurance law
