Just got one of these:

No referral links!

Works great! I can now accept card payments for my phone repairs :D

There is a 2.75% charge on all transactions which is not that bad considering.

That's an awesome little bit of kit. That is about the same you would be charged for having a handset in a shop anyway.

PayPal are/were planning on launching something exactly like this. This looks to be better though, their fees are lower than PayPals extortionate fees! :)

The company I work for won't use anything to do card payments.

We have SO many complaints that people cannot use card payment, and we have passed this on every time it has been mentioned, over about 8 years from what I hear.

Yet something like this is available, and they still wont use it.

****ing ridiculous.

My parents had a shop and they were charged about 2.5% per transaction, so this is not much different. Very reasonable tbh.

Depends how you look at it. When I worked at Argos many moons ago we paid 1% on card transactions. So you are paying nearly three times that.

Many of my payments are around £40-£80, That is a few quid worth of fee's.

Most of my customers don't mind paying £2 off more if they don't have to go to a cash point.

Only down side for me is the 4 ish day wait for payments to arrive in my bank account.

does the money go direct to your bank? will it work with iphone5? why should i trust the company with my money?

Yes, direct to bank with a slight delay.

Yes it will work with iPhone 5, Uses the headphone port to connect.

Because they have thousands of good reviews?

I think this would look extremely dodgy to the average person.

Oh?
Not anyone i have had use it it doesn't.

i was just thinking its a cool idea, but most people give me cash, bank transfer or cheque which dont charge and i'd probably get money out of a cheque faster than this machine..

On-top of looking really dodgy, it's probably a bit unprofessional also.

hmmm
just out of interest - does it count as a cash transaction or a purchase?

could be a decent way to get a low interest loan...

How is it?!?!

Its a way to accept card payments, How can it be at all unprofessional?

I would say it makes you seem more legit as a trader if you can accept card payments!

Because it looks like a really jury-rigged solution. Not to mention people are used to chip and pin machines.

More choice for the customer is a good thing. I would be averse to having a photo taken of me though.

I assume you would pass the fees onto the customer (by raising the price of the service) if they wish to pay by card? I'm sure most would understand the cost of convenience.
