I'm not sure many games could stand up to Skyrim in this competition in terms of popularity. A handful at best :).

Ok guys BEFORE you break my heart you should know there is a right choice and a wrong choice here :P.

Its tough because not only do you need to buy a game with little marketing hype but you also need to play it a good few hours in before it begins to shine. In my mind it is the only game that has truly carried on what the original Deus Ex started. No games story changes around your actions more than it does in this game. Most under-rated game everrrr

Eurogamer recently did a retrospective on AP worth a read... tho a little bit too critical on some aspects it must have stuck with them to still be talking about it after a few years :).
