Haven't tried that out yet! Also, need to try the fish and chippy just opposite the Sainsbury's, apparently they're really nice.

I don't think it's that bad! I'm really quite good with money though so I usually buy deals/offer and look at things to get most for the money instead of just buying the first one I see. Occasionally get a Tesco delivery for cupboard stuff when I have money off/clubcard things.

Haha yeah fair enough. I've been brought up quite street-wise (live near Croydon) so they didn't really bother me either.

Yeah I couldn't do a flatshare. I would need to know the people I'm living with before living with them. Otherwise it could get very annoying if they're just slightly different in personality.

I didn't really have much choice, I don't know 1 person in Bristol (bar work people)... so I really need someone to bounce off (no joking :p) when I come home to stop me going mental.

By all means could go single living, costs the same from what I've seen... but I think I would just end up my my brains over the ceiling. When I'll most likely be pushing 15 hour days, I want someone to come home to and chat/chill with.

Redland and cotham is fantastic, cheaper than Clifton, but close enough to centre and white ladies and just a nice area. I miss living around there, now out in horefield, which as someone else said is just a bit of a pain to get to centre for nights out, especially if your only going for a couple. But at the same, time three double bed house, with garage, drive and massive garden, for the same rent as my old two bed top floor flat in cotham.

If you can get over driveway, just park on the street, you might not get outside your house 100% of the time, but I didn't find it an issue, and it was never parking miles away, maybe a street or two away.
 
Clifton, Redland, Henleaze, Westbury, are all nice places to live. There are also some very nice flats on the harborside which would be walking distance to work.

I have recently moved to horfield which is a bit of a dive but its bloody cheap!

Rent isn't really an issue at present, coming from one of the most inflated areas in the country, the rent prices all seem "fantastic". For me, £500 a month including bills, a few minutes from the heart of the city by foot is something I'll definitely be happy with.

I would feel more comfortable in the heart of Bristol until I get to know it better and make friends etc there. As I get to grips with travel network, I may branch out a bit more.
 
Right, home and in bed now, although everyone's pretty much said what I was going to!

BS1 will be loud on weekends, but as you say no more than any general London area. Baldwin Street is slap bang in the centre but actually doesn't have much on it so you won't be above or opposite a big club.

I was in a 5-bed flat share with randoms for over 2 years and it was the best thing I ever did. Some are awful, some are awesome, you just have to hope for the best.

Feel free to drop me a trust once you're here if you want a tour. Nitefly owes me a Guinness anyway.
 
I'd personally love to live on Whiteladies road or black boy hill (clifton), lovely places, and with the right view overlooking exactly where the balloon fiesta is :)

£1'200 a month budget... whoa!
 
I can officially say, as of 4PM, I am now a resident of Bristol in Southville.

I am located just off Stackpool road, with an awesome flatmate and 2 empty rooms. We both are OCD and I am the first person that he's been happy with. The price I'm paying is fantastic and inclusive of all bills/council tax, we have a massive lounge and double sided kitchen big enough to entertain like 20 people.

On top of this the landlord seems wonderful, the garden is being redone for summer, with built in BBQ etc.

Really couldn't of been more happy right now.

Have lived in Bristol for 22 years, moved here when I was two, fortunately my accent is very seldom (it's forced in the recording if that's not already obvious!), it is worse after a fair few beers though :D

Southville eh, Intredasting. Not bad I guess, close enough to walk anywhere in the centre but still fairly residential. My mate runs a pub called The Imp just round the corner from you ;)
