My brother wants to build a PC for games such as WoW, Pes 2013, Fifa 13 and Football manager 13 and will also be doing editing. He already has a case (Zalman Z9) and also a 7850 GFX card.

Cheer

Yeah looks good. Although need to add an OS, Just noticed heatsink is out of stock too O.o. Don't think he will overclock so he can use a stock cooler :)

Cheers

Slightly over but worth the cash. Use the developers edition of windows 8, think of it as a try before you buy for 3 months. He can then choose between windows 7 or 8 later in the year. £80 for the OS is eating into the budget, better to use the cash for components......at 100 posts you get free P&P ;)

If he's already got a GPU (7850) like you said..

the 3570k is the bestway to go, may put you over budget a little but well worth it.

I'd go for a mix between hono and idles build.

Hono's: Monitor, PSU and mouse
Idles: HDD, Ram and Keyboard

All the rest of the components they've speced are the same..

It may put you nearer to £530-£540 but it's well worth the £

Thanks for giving us the nod bud. He did say he won't be ordering till wednesday though fella. So those B grade items might be gone by then. Granted the extra 1TB of capacity for £4 more going Bgrade is a no brainer. I just tried to use what's in stock or will definately come back into stock.

I don't like how tall the kingston RAM is (you know me) but I was trying to keep the price down. He did say he isn't that fussed about overclocking so I doubt a massive heatsink will find it's way into the system. Providing he sticks with 8GB of RAM it wont be an issue anyway if he uses the blue DIMM slots for the RAM.

I completely agree with Doomedspeed, if you can stretch the budget to get an i5-3570k that would do you the world of good.

This is how your basket would look with Dooms' suggestion. Obviously the HDD may be out of stock by the time you purchase but you can swap that out for another one if need be.

*Edit* How do I post builds like you guys did out of interest?

I'd actually prefer the corsair XMS3 RAM at £41 (it wasn't listed when we spec'd)

It's low profile unlike the kingston beast i used and a more reputable brand than the team group aswell as having a better CAS rating.

When he is ready to buy he can post what he is thinking of and we can help him balance the budget better then

Very good point, that's the problem with a gap between finding out what to buy and then actually buying it :D like you said it will be better if we refined the final build closer to the purchase date.
