I'm really struggling with my feet. My toes are getting so cold; showers post ride are excruciating and this time even my heals were suffering. Not nice.

I have the same issue, yet to find anything that helps. Even with merino socks and overshoes my feet get perishingly cold. :( I have poor general circulation anyway in my hands and feet so I imagine I just have to live with it.

Is there much to pick between different inner tubes or should I just buy whatever is cheapest?
There can be a bit of a weight difference and reducing any rotational mass is always good. I run conti race lights on my nicer bike, bit more expensive but light.

The normal conti race tubes are still pretty light and cheap, I'd go for those if you don't care too much.

Also just to add a lot of people swear on latex tubes over butyl, and ride quality is meant to be much improved, but they just need to be pumped up a lot more (and not suitable for carbon clinchers).

Using overshoes I take it? I fine my rubbery waterproof overshoes the best in freezing conditions, think it must be the windproof-ness of the rubber.

@chanjy I wen't to bike-science had a look at the Legends, have a test ride appointment on Wednesday :)

Tried a few bikes out including the Look 675. Managed to get a couple of deals offered:
Look 675 White/Red Ultegra & Ksyrium Elites: £3.2k (Sell the Ksyriums for £400ish net total £2.8k)
Custom Matt Black/Fluro Yellow Dura Ace 9000 & my wheelset £3.9k including build

Both options come with 2 services per year for life which I suppose is one advantage of going local opposed to mail order.

I test rode a few other high end bikes and the most notable difference between them I found was using Di2. It's simply awesome.

It certainly divides opinion :p

The more I look at them the white/red frameset it's growing on me. Also looks better without the white cosmic decals all those logos are a bit ASBOish together. What would you go for in that price range?

Hmmm...well if we look around the £4K mark for that Look frame with Ultegra say, then either:

1. Bianchi Oltre XR with Athena carbon GS:

or

2. Cervelo R5 VWD with Ultegra GS and R-SYS SLR (might need a teeny bit more cash).

There's obviously a lot more options, but for around £4K, both of those bikes are hard to beat. The Oltre is used in World Tour by VacanSoleil I think, and the R5 is used by Garmin-Sharp.

Everyone is different though and there's no 'right' answer. If you like it, then go for it - don't let a grumpy ***** like me put you off ;)

What overshoes are you using? I have a pair of Sidi overshoes which are fleece lined and the exterior is Windtex I think. My feet are always toasty.

*Edit*

These.

There is loads to choose from for £4k:
Ridley Noah
BMC Teammachine
Canyon Ultimate/Aeroad
lapierre xelius

You can get all of these with the top mechanical groupsets (red/dura ace/record) for around £4k

The Ridley Noah gets my nod from that list. Not only does it look insanely sexual, if it can cope with Andre Griepel, then it can cope with me ;)

Those look pretty good actually. I've got a set of PRO neoprene ones at the moment.

The seat stays on the Bianchi Oltre are outrageous. :D

Those overshoes are nice mate - recommended. I need to find some decent Winter gloves. The Castelli ones I have are stupidly warm, but very thick and don't allow for much feel when applying the brakes. Any ideas?

I took it for a spin today. Looks great but didn't seem to handle as well as my Ti bike, it was only a short ride though so may give it another test when it's no so cold/wet.

I think you'll always be unsatisfied comparing any carbon frame to your Ti. Your frame is very 'zingy' and feels alive, whereas carbon is very clinical and almost 'dead' by comparison. It doesn't give anything like the same feedback as Ti IMHO.
