Are these figures for a Crucial M4 128 up to scratch please? It seems to boot OK, but the info shown looks rather low, I'm pretty sure that in the past the final score was in the odd case over 800

i dont know what those drives score,000f firmware is the best i think for those drives, some versions slow the drive a little

TBH I think you're bang on the nail right with 000f and that maybe where the 800 came from.

Do you know if 000f is still available somewhere and would a backward flash be OK?

try n google for 000f fw,you should be able to back flash,i did on my corsair gt,and it was fine

Thanks guys 000f downgrade went well with no problems whatsoever, since my last post I've needed to remove Win7 & replace it with XP & besides which Virgin media went Down for the umpteenth time

Although I'm using AHCI drivers I don't expect the AS SSD test would play very well without what I think is a figment of the imagination called trim.

you went from win7 to xp:eek::confused::eek::eek:

:D I can understand your :confused: however I got a very old version of Magix Photos on CD & DVD which refuses to work on Win7 & I also refuses to buy a newer version that will. I'm very tight like that you see :D 69 years old, & on a pension which don't run to new software when Windoze decides to do an OS update. :(

Now I’m cooking on Gas!! :D

I reloaded Win 7 unfortunately this didn’t make the AS SSD score improve even with 000F FW, shortly after I found this on the net (Read Me) I followed these instruction for Parted Magic then reloaded Win 7 once again, after which I got the wonderful 800 + score again.

I hope this will be of help to someone else, but please be aware of the procedure it does warn in some cases it can brick the SSD drive, so please again be warned on your own head be it, as it was on mine.

I'm off out now, for a well earned half a pint :)

Many, many thanks to all that resonded :)

yeah a secure erase will restore the ssd performance

did you get your program to work in xp mode?

Yeah :o you wouldn't believe the amount I've slung because of incompatibly issues with Win7 Thanks

ps sori about the late reply lost VM again last night (Sunday) & only got reconnected again @ 10.30 today Monday.

Hey hondo, glad you got it sorted.

However I'm certainly not glad that you scored 13 points more than me in your benchmark !:eek::mad:
