For 4.8 80C isn't to bad. Can you remember what you got (temp wise) at 4.5-4.6.

What is the difference between the super mega and the rev c? Is it just those orange fins?

The orange fins which are purely cosmetic. And the super mega has a revised bracket design that allows it to mount 140mm fans. The black model also uses the same bracket as it can use 140mm fans as well.

I assumed as much.

Is the black series just a cosmetic change too? Or is it a completly different cooler?

The rev c also comes with those clips. I will.be using my 2 sp120's to start with.

some people have mentioned the fan clips coming close to the back of the GPU.

Is using some electrical tape on the fan clips a good way to resolve that issue?
