What would we do if we had another 1962-3

Good old daily mail, even a story of 'DIRE CONSEQUENCES' gets a leading picture of bikini clad ladies.

When I see headlines like this..

(Holy #### SIX inches!)

I find myself wondering how we would cope with this....

Not very well I suspect! :(

The trouble is the way we live and work has changed massively since the 60's with the main difference being that we now comute by car and over much larger distances on a daily basis in the 60's most people would have got to work by public transport or walking and would not have travelled very far.

However today we all drive everywhere and can't even manage our shopping without a car add to that the fact that we have lost our sense of comunity so old people feel the need to clear snow from their steps themselves and you can see why we cope less well with snowy conditions.

I believe If I'm unabel to travel to work that I'll spend some of my day starting an epic snowball fight, making snow angels and writing my name in the snow, Then I may get the Sunbed out and work on my tan :p

Well, I've ordered a new soft shell jacket, some thermals and some new socks. And another pair of gloves.

I'm not intending to leave the house for more than 10 minutes at a time over the next week or so, but I'm prepared to if have to ;)

I'd be fine, I'm more than equipped for a bit of snow and 6 miles isn't exactly a long walk.
In fact it would be good training!
The fatties I see driving 100 yards to the corner shop might benefit from some forced exercise too.

It will be fun watching all the MX5 and BMW drivers skating all over the road.

I used to live opposite the exit to a business park and snow & ice played havoc with Mercedes and BMWs. Guys were there for ages trying to get their cars moving.
