Bought a Corsair Force Series 3 120GB SATA 2.5" 6Gb only last February from the guys here at Oc, I'm getting a crash blue screen with jargon saying the hardware has failed etc.. OK it was only a £99 but I'm worried about sending it RMA as my documents folder has my personal finance paypal etc etc in one form or another.. so I will probably just buy an new one.. :(

Question is should I get another SSD? has anyone else's SSD failed so soon?

If not an SSD then whats a fast HDD as I use mine for crunching astro images, and photoshop along with COD/BF3 etc.. I must admit I did like the boot time and how fast I entered games :D

Any thoughts on this?

nearly 10 months for my 60gb corsair force gt still running fine id say your just unlucky

the force models do use cheaper asynchronous nand though, the gt's use synchronous

Well I need to move on, no reply from OC after 8 hours waiting.. high street PCW for me , I think I'll give the SSD's a miss fort a few more years, I dont think there ready yet.

No! Jump on the CS subforum and 5UB or Bailey will sort you out.

And don't go back to mech drives. Just don't. You've been unlucky this time, but I've had my boot SSD going for nearly 3 years and it's going strong today next to another ioverflow SSD, and this is the notoriously bad firmware Vertex 2e!

Sometimes hardware fails, but don't let it get to you. I always do a periodical image of my OS drive onto an ancient external USB drive at least once every 6 months or so, and that way if anything goes I can always restore from there. I recommend doing the same. It's just good practice and makes things like this much less painful to deal with.
