Would you volunteer in a US civil war?

this really

its the most powerful democracy out there and is a country closely aligned with our own values... if some group wanted to say tear up the constitution, impose some other non-democratic regime on the US etc.. and a sizeable number of Americans opposed it (wanted to protect their constitution, democratic system) then I'd certainly be a supporter at least of those Americans tbh...

One side wants to impose Euro style "social-democracy" (total nanny police state). The other side wants to maintain the constitution and all that... however there is a strong risk of the latter being co-opted by christian fundamentalists.

That's the choices in this hypothetical scenario. Big government nanny state (with a risk of socialism or communism) or small-government conservatism (with a risk of christian fundamentalism).

Move to Canada tbh

British Columbia gets annexed by the Red (conservative) side of the US in order to connect to red Alaska. BC is already very conservative from what I understand. Ontaria/Quebec/etc goes to the liberal Blue side.

I'm in. Except, change the cheeseburgers to women, bibles to beer and SUVs to Sports Cars. Deal?

Is that imported or American beer? Remembering the old saying that American beer is a lot like having sex in a canoe...

Why is America having a second civil war? If the cause is worthwhile then perhaps it's something to consider - if it's just that the conservatives hate the liberals or vice versa then it's not a good enough reason.

Is telling people who they can & can't get married to another form of a nanny state? (conservatism), telling people if they can have an abortion or not?.

It's odd that only one side of the coin has this label when in reality both infringe on personal liberty in equal measures.

One socially (Republicans) one in an economic way (Liberals).

Also,

Lol kwerk......

No wai, Russian forces take advantage of the American civil war to invade and take over Alaska which becomes a new protectorate of Russia. Canada strikes treaty with Russians to invade the left-overs of America while Russia expands into Europe ushering in the new Canado-Russian global world dominance where people drink vodka and eat bacon and maple syrup.

This is why the US should not have a civil war tbh. Although vodka and bacon and maple syrup does not sound terrible.

I think I'd be more inclined to just use the countries unrest for this countries own personal gain.

What I'd do and how I'd do it I don't know yet, would depend on the status quo.

Asking this on a UK forum where most people live in the UK.....................

That's the point of the question... you never seen the coverage of all those conflicts in the ME where lots of muslims came over from Canada, Germany, Australia to fight? If there was an "Anglo" conflict would people have the same moral convictions or adventurist motivations to participate.

Hmm don't know really. I guess it depends upon what is at stake and whether this was going to actually turn into WWIII...

Wait until both sides were at their weakest. Then reclaim it for the British empire in one fell swoop. Then put a stop to all this nonsense.

Given that our society eventually mirrors theirs, it's in our interests for them not to fall into a Nanny liberal/fascist State.

We also owe them one for helping in many previous wars.
