Alienware m18x or m17x r4?

If his quote and offer mention the 3 years ext warranty, Dell will honor this offer and he'll get it.

Dell charges way too much for their ext warranty plans, the next day isn't actually next day. Its subject to parts stock, as I so rudely found out only not so recently.

I paid £1450 for my M17x but got the warranty ext but only because my first M17x died within a few hours, otherwise I'd have not purchased it. I'd use the sales of goods act and not fit for purpose or last a reasonable length of time before developing faults.

Pulled that old chestnut on sony support for a PS3 that died after a year, tried to charge me, finally got a replacement for free.

I've noticed a weak area on my M17x, the speakers are good, but without the subwoofer lack punch. My old Studio had better bass sadly. But headphones soon cure that fault...

The m18 has a subwoofer, would be suprised if the m17 did not. Even my old dell 1747 had one.

Just ordered a m17x :)
The only options I added were the 1080p screen and a 7970m.
Planning to add an SSD and 16GB RAM my self as its far cheaper.
Got an est. delivery date of 29/01/13 what the chances I receive this a bit earlier? :)

Can send this rMBP back now, severely disappointing. Couldn't fault the Apple customer service but the hardware is shocking :(

Did anyone happen to notice there were 7 R4's on tuesday (though all were rubbish with either the 660 or 675) and none since then? Kind of strange how it works sometimes. Always tomorrow though so here's hoping.

Btw, I bought a 7720 for myself off the outlet the other day as I do now actually NEED something so will see how that is.

I bought a 7720 along with the R4 the other day too. It's one with a backlit keyboard so I'm hoping it will be a bit nicer than the one I tried previously.

Could someone recommend me 2 x 8gb sticks of ram that will fit in the r4 I ordered , asked in another thread but I'm confused as apparently some ram won't fit, figured id ask in here, no itentions of overclocking the ram, just want some decent stuff that will last and do its job , and I don't want to buy the wrong stuff

I used Kingston Hyper X 1600mhz and it works perfect. Edit - Link is 8gb not 16gb.

Has your order status changed mate?
I ordered ( reordered really given they bizarely cancelled the first order so I could add on and change the price) on the same day as you on the morning, and given they had already placed the fund on hold from the week before I'd assumed it would be fairly swift, but for whatever reason my order status hasn't changed (still says order processing , I think this means they are still trying to sort the funds out) , my est delivery says the 19th still, but the first time I ordered it said it was in pre-assembly within the first 2 days (I ordered it on the Friday the first time)

Just curious, alls well aslong as they don't delay the order (which I can't see how they will given they already took the majority of the funds once

Mine might end up on the MM over the next few days, i have used it about 10 times since i purchased it and that seems like an awful waste ...
