Nvidia are set to release their GK110 based "Titan" card. It's going to slot in between the 680 and 690. Trying to steal some of AMD's thunder as they prepare to release their 8xxx series.

I bet nvidia will release there next card around the crysis 3 launch I personally can't wait I want a proper gk110 what the 680 should have been.

I doubt it. The 690 can be picked up for that or less, this card is supposed to be about 75% that of the 690 - I'd rather buy the 690!

Yeah,

In the US a GTX 690 is $1000, so this at $900 it will come in at £700 then.

If we take Nvidia's claim of 85% of a GTX 690 then thats 50% faster than a 7970 GE.

I think its going to be interesting to see just how close it will actually get to the GTX 690.

8970 Rumours

7970 GE vs 8970

SP: 2048 / 2560 - +25%
ROP: 32 / 48 - +50%
Core Clock: 1050 / 1050 #
Mem Clcok: 5500 / 6500 +18%

If i was AMD, i would just stick another 500 Stream Processors on it, call it the 8980 and sell it for £600. ($750)

Also, i wonder where the GTX 780 fits in to all this?

I'm pretty certain that a GTX780 will be a faster card than a GTX690. New Maxwell architecture, more cuda cores, higher clock rates etc. We'll have to wait and see.

Well a 90% performance increase would be quite spectacular.

But then i seem to remember there was similar hype about the GTX 680.

Dejavo, do you have any actual evidence of that performance?

I was expecting you knew of something AMD was releasing that was more beastly but from that reaction, I would say you have just got all humpty because somebody asked you "what thunder are they trying to steal".

I will ask again. What thunder are they trying to steal? (I am at work and it is a pain on my phone opening new windows)

My plan is definitely to double up on the 7950's when I need, then skip ahead to what ever is around in a few years!

I would be very surprised if this is the case. Rumours for the 780 put it 25% faster thn a 680.
