How much disposable do you have?

I hear that. Total rip off!

Supply and demand + not wanting to leave your kids with any old nutjob = massive fees.

This is why I am keen on my gf's idea of switching careers in to childcare, means she makes money and can look after our future kids for free :D

After fixed expenses and food including beer, i have about max 300, but tend to just buy better food which leaves me with less than that. But I do live quite comfortably for my age. But 300 goes to debts, so ideally when i paid them off i could be saving 300 a month.

Lot's of them don't give it to you for free, they get a decent discount that comes out of the wages. Lot's of them don't pay sick either which is bad considering they spend a large portion of their working week around so many young kids picking up illnesses. My son's childcare is £60 a day, the place and facilities is fantastic, the people that work for them aren't paid well. Which is why they usually have a high turnover of younger girls with a kid themselves.

After rent, petrol, food and bills I have around £1200 a month spare. Go me.

2k for me wohoo me.

I originally called this thread how much left after bills, someone must have changed it.

I think the problem posting this type on thread on here is I guess a lot of members are still living at home with parents.

Each pay day I put £500 straight into my saving account. With the rest I pay for petrol, insurance, house keeping etc etc and still have enough to buy most things i want and go out drinking etc.

I am living with my parents still though :p

We have around 200 quid a month left after bills, food and petrol. That will improve as my wages rise and also when the first 2 years of my mortgage is paid.

Loads. I just wish I knew where it all went every month. Still got £2715 of debt on my credit card but after every month it's nearly always the same !

I'm starting a budget/spend spreadsheet from today as it's payday and it'll be a good idea to see where it all goes.

So I've done my calculations and it really is scary how much I have been wasting instead of saving/paying off debt lately. I blame Xmas

Even with a £515 payment to my credit card debt just paid today, rent, phone bill and internet I still have £674 leftover to buy food and booze

Another 4 months paying £550 on my CC debt and I am debt free. Awesome

We get about £3400 between us and have bills (not food, petrol etc) of around £1500 at rough guess.

So £1900 to live off.

This month is our first month paying mortgage etc as we have just moved in.

We need to save for a wedding in September.

Damn its mad how much some peeps make and have spare fair play to you all live life as much as you can.

I have zero savings and can't afford a mortgage living round here at all. Despite me earning an average salary. I just cut my outgoings to practically nothing.

No car = no petrol, insurance, mot, tyres, repairs
Live close to work = cycle or walk to work
No gym = not throwing £40 a month away for not using it
No online/club memberships
GiffGaff SIM only = £10 is all I ever need a month
Virgin Internet = split between 3 of us in the flat £11.50

Does help that we live in a flat where landlady charges us £1275 all inclusive for 3 of us, no other bills to be paid in a plush area in Purley, Surrey.

Still can't manage to save though, bad habits though. Smoking and drinking.

I don't mean going to work for a nursery, as they indeed pay pittance, I mean going self-employed nanny-mode.

Her older sister just had a baby, as have many of her sister's friends, and they are all in high paying jobs, possibly an easy client list :D
