New wipers time:Anyone tried Denso Hybrids?

It's Bosch Aerotwin flat blades I've got on just now but I think I'm going to give these Denso Hybrids a pop. Hardly going to break the bank at £30. If they aren't much cop then I'll have myself to blame and let you all know. :)

Interested to see the result of these, I put new Valeos on recently and I'm not impressed considering there were cheaper alternatives.

I just took a video of my windscreen wipers, because I'm rock and roll.

Not great, taken in a dark garage, but you can tell they are very quiet and the smear fades away very quickly. Not too bad considering they are over a year old, get used every day and haven't been cleaned in weeks.

God I need a life :(

I read his posts on these so ordered two pairs for our cars. They judder and strike the windscreen rubber on both. They smear and are noisy when the wiping action begins. They're crap.

Judder can be caused by the wiper arm being twisted. The main body of the wiper blade should sit dead parallel with the windscreen, if it doesn't you get judder in one direction and poor wiping in the other.

I tried some Valeos on my zed and maybe it was the curve of the glass but they were terrible. Ended up binning after two weeks and buying factory fit bosch.

I would be interested what other E85 owners use. (the problem area was the curve of the window on drivers side wiper, at the top of the wiper stroke.)

So are these Alca flatblades as good as people say?. I found a pair for my car on the Bay of 'E's' for £14.99 with free delivery. That's ridiculously cheap!!.

They don't bend enough for the Mini windscreen so the last inch or two just waves around in space when wiping. Standard ones were much better.

I got wiperblades own brand Aero wiper blades, work well and don't smear for me at least.

Mine has started smearing a couple of months ago, I got it in July.

Not getting them again.

Mine did this too after a similar amount of time. They aren't smearing too badly and haven't got any worse (11 months now) but I was hoping for a year of use before problems. I haven't tried cleaning them yet though; what about you?

Ive had various flat blades and always revert to bosch blades, flat blades for me always lift at motorway+ speeds and thats when you want them working at thrre optimum.

Halfords trade card brings the price right down, the amount they spend on r&d is ridiculous so im inclined to say their best.

Alcas were pants on my Clio 197, low speeds fine, 65mph+ they started lifting off the screen and did very little water clearing, wouldn't buy them again personally.

Need some new ones for the A4 looking on wiperblades.co.uk I have 4 options:

wiperblades own brand
Champion
Bosch
Valeo

What would one reccomend?

Once fitted to a car i have never changed them again, and yes they bead very well so much i usually dont need wipers on the motorway.

Interesting, i've always been too tight to pay for them in the past. Wiperblades own brand blade wipers have always served pretty well, better than bosch in my experience. Next time i'll try the piaa, see what all the hype is about.

Results really vary by the car

I've had good sucess with Bosch and Valeo - the Valeos are significantly cheaper but no worse IME. The wiperblades own brand ones were pants when I tried them - but in credit to wiperblades they refunded me without quibble.

Ah right. I must have twisted the wiper arm as I fitted them and untwisted them perfectly back to factory spec when I threw them in the bin then, as they worked perfectly before and after.

I've ordered the Denso Hybrids, probably be here next week. The current Aerotwins have done me well but I'm a sucker for trying out new stuff. If these Denso's are dross I'll probably just go back to Bosch. Although the PIAA's are a type I've yet to try.

The Denso Hybrids came a couple of days ago. I've used them so far in a few downpours and today in some very heavy snow. They arrived well packaged and were a cinch to fit with no fiddly adaptors etc. Just click open the cover plate on the fitting, slide it on the hook of the wiper arm and click the cover shut again. Job done.

In rain they work silently with not even a hint of noise. No judder just a smooth sweep which clears the screen perfectly. In snow they do exactly the same. The previous Bosch Aerotwin flatblades I had on were very good but in the snow the flatblade design doesn't really lend itself well to clearing the white stuff from the screen in a perfect manner. With these Denso's being a hybrid design they seem to work much, much better in snow. Your mileage may vary obviously as has already been said, some wipers work well on certain vehicles but not on others. However so far I'm more than happy with them.

Slightly pricey compared to some options but if they continue to work as well as this I'll be happy that it is money well spent.

How are they performing after a few months? My wipers are starting to show signs of wear, even after cleaning. Thinking of trying the Denso blades.

Still all good. Bit early to compare them with my last Valeo flatblades but so far so good. No judder or noise to speak of and still clearing smear free. Time will tell, the Valeo's were leaving lines on the screen after about 7-8 months or so like there were tiny parts of the rubber in contact with the screen missing. No amount of cleaning the screen or blades themselves appeared to help this. FWIW the Bosch ones I tried were good to begin with but didn't last long either.

So yeah, so far I'm happy but will indeed report back in another couple of months with a further update. :)

I ordered some and they arrived today.

Bit early to talk about performance, they are perfect, but they would be, being brand new. However, I must say, aesthetically they are very nice - all retrofit flat blades look a bit odd, having a thin blade with a bloody great bracket right in the middle. Hasn't particularly bothered me before, but because these are basically a flat blade that looks like a normal design but with a shroud, they look much cleaner on the car. I like :)
