Actors with disappointing Careers..

Mark Hamill is definitely a good shout, considering the fact that Luke Skywalker is one of the biggest character roles in the whole industry.

Paul Blackthorne I thought was destined for the big screen after his turn as Steven Saunders in 24, but his career doesn't seem to have kicked on much (last seen playing an American cop in Arrow)

Julia Sawalha was pretty good as a young actress I thought but career seems to have fizzled out once she hit 40.

Was Mark Hamill actually a good actor though? Harrison Ford easily shone during the Star Wars films, but I never really thought much of Hamill, even allowing for having his face smashed in.

Hamill got lucky with the role of a lifetime imo.

Yeah, he's good with the voicework as an uber wacky Joker, but can you see him playing a variety of on screen roles convincingly?

going for a odd one here mainly as he;s done very well on tv here but no proper film work.

David jason.

i know he's done great but just imagine what he could have done if you just look at his work in porridge where he played a much older man and played it damned well. especially for it being a tv show.

For me it's Brendan Fraser after George of the Jungle and The Mummy i really thought he was going to be big and The Mummy movies were going to be his "Indiana Jones". Then The Mummy 2 came along and he diceded to do increasely terrible movies. Shame really.

Chevy Chase.....

So yeah he is getting on now, but his change of direction came along time ago. He was one of the funniest film comics of the 80s, yet he made a decision to focus more on family friendly films and his career plummeted from there.

WHAT??? Kev Bacon has been in loads of big titles since.

Sure, but he's rarely, if ever, the star. He's pretty much a character actor, so he's usually lower down the bill.

Which is not to say he isn't incredibly successful in that field. Likewise Philip Seymour Hoffman.
