Which Card should i buy - sub £400 please

WILL my psu be fine with either of these cards

I recently had an i7-3770K / HD7950 / 16GB build and with the i7 at a modest 4.4GHz and the HD7950 at 1GHz the highest (using MSI Kompustor and IntelBurnTest) I was able to measure at the wall was 340W - also tried the Crysis 1 demo benchmark and that maxed at 220W. The PSU (Seasonic 620W) was 80%+ so that's a total draw of around 300W. Your PSU should be fine.

Beware that that the vtx3d's have a reputation of suffering from coil whine :)

Not all but a fair proportion it seems based on the posts from users when these were on a super low price a while back.

Gigabyte Windforce 3x GTX 670 is a good one.

At a maximum overclock the 7970 will be faster by the way by a small margin. If you're not going to overclock then I'd say you should pay a little extra and get a 7970 Ghz Edition.

The vtx is at 1050 MHz anyway, same as the GHz editions. There is the wind force 1100mhz which is faster but another £100

I would say its worth trying the vtx, you have 14 days to send it back if it has coil whine. For £300 with sleeping dogs it can't be matched by a 670.

True. You could also argue your posting should be refunded as well if the product is not fit for use.

I would go for the £300 VTX3D then as well.
