Hey Pete, you recognise this gorgeous devil?

I just checked my finish time for yesterday. I got a mid range time but I know I could have been loads faster. I spent a lot of time keeping pace with a couple of people and having a chat, including stopping to wait for them to catch up. Next time I'm going to just blast it (and probably get exhausted after 1/4 of the course and have to quit).

Edit: 2nd pic

I have to say, in this thread here, that I am very proud of Damien after that ride yesterday! I dropped him off at 8.30am and it was raining, cold and windy. He didn't get back to the house until 5.15pm (I was getting worried, thought he had been in an accident or something) and he had the biggest smile on his face!

I presented him with a Pork Roast (with all the trimmings) and home made Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce and ice cream - as a dutiful girl friend should!

Well done my dear :)

Oi! GTFO of my thread! I don't come bother you when you're posting cat pics...

Thats cause you dont care about cats...where as I care about your cycling! But point taken, I will leave you with your 'boyz' :p

and just to clarify I've never once referred to anyone as 'boyz'...

What pumps do you use these days if your on the road and have a flat? I currently have a small little blackburn pump but its frankly rubbish and takes lots of work to get upto an ok pressure which is just ok!

Do you guys use c02 or any other small mini pumps you recommend?

I've just got one of these. It's not bad but I wouldn't like to use it daily. I might try out CO2 at some point.

I had this before it and it's lasted me years (5-6 years+) until the seals finally went. If you can afford the weight/size it's a pretty bulletproof and easy to use pump.

Anyone know the best place to bulk buy energy gels?

How many is "bulk"?

Discount Supplements do the High 5 Race Faster packs with 14 gels and a bunch of other stuff in them for £10. They've had them as low as £5 which is stupidly cheap. They also sell boxes of 20 for £13.

A cursory glance on ebay doesn't show any better deals than that, but they could be out there...

Or you could just do what I did and do a sportive and completely raid every feed station. I came home with way more gels than I left with and I had loads throughout the day. They had countless boxes of the things and everyone kept eating cake and jelly babies and leaving all the gels.

I got one of those Faster Packs Pete mentioned and that had all kinds of stuff in. Well worth getting one to try until you exactly you want to get more of.
