Remember my speeding stoppage last July on the bikes? Well, court summons came through 3 weeks ago believe it or not... so, pleading guilty BUT appearing at court to give my side of the story and cry :D:D:D Wish me luck guys...

  1. Worst Case Scenario - 56 Day Ban
  2. Second Best Scenario - 6 Points and upto £1000 fine (means tested, so I'll be screwed)
  3. Best Scenario - My crying and offering sexual favours to the judge may just get me 3 points and a £200 notes fine...

It's generally considered to give more lenient sentences if you appear and act as if you've learnt your lesson, even though you're just pleading guilty...

My first one I didn't bother going to court, got 5 points for 50 in a 30 which isn't that bad really, second one I went to court to try to get a ban rather than 6 points (did not want 3 years sitting on 11 points :p), which worked, got a 28 day ban rather than any points, win ¬_¬

Hope it goes well pugheaven, I was very nervous for mine but it's not so bad :)

to late, he's never coming out...!

Just kidding, hope it all went as well as it could have today mate.

Well I got out and get this... once again, normal law abiding (apart from speeding lol) people get right royally screwed while chavs carrying on breaking into house, stealing cars, attacking people, driving uninsured and untaxed whilst me and Dave get a 7 Day BAN with a massive fine (£585) for overtaking a car at 96mph on motorbikes on a sunny day in Wales. To say I’m livid is another story and then to rub salt into the wounds, they banned me on the spot, this is after dragging our @rses down to Dolgellou Magistrates Court instead of Mold i.e. 1 hour 30 minutes drive away and then banning us and I couldn’t move my car out of the car park to somewhere safer, couldn’t get home because there’s no trains… unbelievable… I actually said, is this ban from 12pm tonight, and she said from NOW… what’s now… 10:50am, now… now 5 seconds ago… I’ve got nothing to state when I can drive again and what time, so infact it’s not 7 days it’ll be kinda 6.5 days… Sharon (my missus) and Ulrika (Daves missus) came down, Sharon drove RX8 back for me thankfully as the car would’ve been in bits by next Monday leaving it there… absolutely furious that normal people get screwed like this…

ALSO, what makes me laugh is I get to pay more on the fine than Dave as it’s means tested… sorry, where’s the justice in this sorry? Sorry Mr Dodd, I want you to pay more for the same offence than Dave because you earn more therefore the Government and Law System can screw you over for anything they want because you got off your @rse and are working… if you’d been on Benefits Mr Dodd then we’d have fined you £50 and asked to pay in installments.

wales is the worst place to get caught, they hate bikers!!!

i think i got 28 day ban and £250 fine for 102mph on the motorway but that was over 6 year ago

It's the way of things. Speeding etc is an easy to police and easy to prosecute offence.
It does suck but to be honest, considering the speed, I'd just take it on the chin and be happy they didn't slap you with a 3/6 month ban.

God yeah and just done insurance on my RX8 and it's not made ANY difference at all... get in there so yeah... it could#ve been worse, I was more annoyed about getting stuck 70 miles from home lol

The ban and fine I wont argue with but what I will say it that banning you from the moment that the judge said is rather pathetic, at least let you get home. The police do have the ANPR system....

It should've said in the summons/information pack that if they did ban you it would take effect immediately, did for mine certainly (although how that works with the first one where I didn't bother to attend I'm not sure)

100% agree, it's petulant IMHO... I mean, they'd could've literally said, how long it take you to get home, ok 3pm is the cut off or 12pm tonight or whatever, to leave me stranded quite frankly is disgusting.

What annoys me more is the summons states only "this is a points offence" and mentions nothing about bans hence we thought no way would we get banned for that... however there we go...

However it's not tought me anything, and my insurance hasn't gone up on the car or the bike either so... Monday comes I'm points free and free to tank it again. If they'd done the decent and 6 points, I'd be a slower driver lol... hey ho.

Punishments for breaking the law are not supposed to be convenient. You need to have a quiet word with yourself.

Also,

I think someone needs to let you know that your attitude is atrocious.

Sorry but I can't be very sympathetic. Don't ride at those speeds on public roads and you wont have to go to court and struggle to get back/other problems.

Sorry but I can't believe a driving ban has had literally no impact on your insurance? This is a license to print money for most insurers, and many may even refuse cover after a ban.

Can't believe you didn't think to check when any possible ban would start before you drove down. You said yourself 2 days before the hearing that a ban was a possibility, and its not exactly a secret that your ban starts there and then.
