Took a stray cat in

My cat will eat anything. Can't leave anything out in the kitchen anymore. Caught him eating crisps, every kind of meat (he has an expensive liking for parma ham), vegetables (loves eating cooked broccoli and carrots) and he'll happily lap up the milk from my cereal bowl if I turn my back. Absolute nightmare!

She's lush ! hahaha

Both my cats were strays, one sadly passed away in August, we had her for 14 years and she was fully grown when my dad brought her home. The other was a tiny little thing on our doorstep NYE when I was about 10? She's still here now and moved herself in hah.

You are not supposed to give cats milk! most cats are lactose intolerant!! they have their own special cat milk formulas if you want to give it anything other than water

People have been giving cats normal milk since the year dot! I recon its all a con to get people to buy the expensive cat milk... :p

My cat can take it's collar off by constantly scratching it, also cats can get in to fights when they go wandering and often get injured, they can also get lost in the process or if it's been snowing recently it might have wandered to far in can no longer find it's way back.

Take it to the vet or cat and dog home to see if it's chipped, it's owner will likely call the cat and dog home looking for it.

BTW the chip fells like a small grain of rice, it's normally at the top of it's neck in front of it's shoulder bones.

I wish a stray cat would adopt me... it would remove the decision I'm trying to make as to whether to get one or not.

If it's not your Pussy then you shouldn't be stroking it let alone taking it home to rub it over your chin.

This is why owning cats is rubbish. No collars because of accidents? How ridiculous is that then when you have guys like this who will come along and take your cat home with him because it has no real ownership? Not like it matters to the cat because it's so fickle it will appreciate anyone who feeds it.

Worst pet ever.

Yeah I really don't like cats :)

Hmm some interesting insights to your psychology here. It seems you need a pet to love you or that you need to feel loved by your pet. I think that says more about you than cats tbh.

But anyway, it's rubbish anyway. My cat recognises me and distinguishes me from other people and there is a change.

Oh and please don't tell me dogs only accept food from their owners. Most dogs I've known would also take any food on offer from anyone.

+1000! :D

Interesting this thing about chips and it belonging to someone else.
Whats cats owners views on this situation I know of :

- Cat 12 months ago was a skinny bony thing that appeared abandoned (assumption was US airforce personnel had moved away and left it as there are quite a few in area)
- Cat was being fed by another person (Z) who had assumed stray, and was in effect completely looking after it, it was there practically 24/7, inside or outside
- Person Z gave in and decided a rehoming was best so took to a cats home, it was back in the area a week later so assumption is it was chipped and the "owners" went and got it back
- After a few weeks cat was all skin and bone again and was always in sight of their house so they started feeding it again, now back to the sitation where its there 24/7 but again a happy contented cat.

Should they just accept the owners are mistreating it and "adopt" it?
What would the situation be regarding the chip? Do vets even check this unless they need to?
Person Z really struggles as they dont actually want a cat but cant bear to see the animal abuse as they are an animal lover. Its not just person Z that assumed it was a stray apparently at least 2 other neighbours assumed exactly the same so it gives you an understanding of the state the cat was in.
