Dubstep fans take a look!!!

Have you tried using 3 thors in one combi? Dear god, the sounds you can make! Especially with a bit of brickwalling :)

Yeah, I have one bass combi patch with about 4 thors, a malstrome and a subtractor!!

They all sound like commercial brostep. It's a no from me. For all of them.

Fair enough. It's nothing like brostep but that's your opinion and I value it.

That's minimalistic

It doesn't have (to quote Dubba Johnny) a million progressively more insane synths over each other. It's based around one main synth, with a few extras.

I was referring to the OPs tracks. Yours isn't far from brostep with that obnoxious synth over the top of everything.

LOL.

So, culprate is brostep then? :D

Yeah, I'm not sure he understands the nuances.

OP, check out EDM Resistance on facebook.

They will be releasing another big ep, if you want to get some of your tracks out their get in touch :)

The guy who runs both it and the label I'm on, Hani, is a cracking guy too, and will happily promote your music :)

Give over. You make generic and rudimentary 130bpm music with an epileptic mid range LFO. You're not Mozart. "Nuances". LOL.

Alos, it's elitists like you that are potentially ruining the scene.

Elitest how? By pointing out that what he has produced is brostep, not dubstep? At least I'm able to discern the difference between the two. And I don't mind brostep... when it's good. Neither of which you or his music is.

Kapow. Insta fail. 130bpm? Hahaha :D. You remind me of those people on youtube who say "LOL IT'S NOT DUBSTEP IT'S ELECTRO HOUSE LOLOLOLOL".

And as for not being good, weird that I have 17 likes in less than a day isn't it?

If you think our music is brostep, then you must also think that Culprate is brostep. Is it? NO.

Edit: Oh, and just so you know, and don't fail in future:

Dubstep is the overarching genre, much the same way that Drum & Bass is an overarching genre. Brostep is a sub genre, like techstep, jungle, and neurofunk are subgenres for Drum & Bass. So saying something is brostep not dubstep is frankly laughable :D

Oh, and Dubstep is generally at 140bpm. As is my track.

Good old Shayper, hijacks some elses thread and kicks off again when someone doesn't like his music :D

You really shouldn't post your crap is you don't take criticism very well :)

130-140, whatever. If you think I'm being anal about genres you're now being anal about bpm ranges. As for how many likes you have... how many does Justin Bieber have? Does that equate how good he is? Of course. To tween girls. Your music obviously appeals to 17 people who like generic and rudimentary brostep.

Yes, Culprate is brostep. Infact, pretty much everything that was on Dubsaw was brostep. I actually like some of Culprates stuff, such as Don't Do That. But I also liked Dubsaw's sister label Mindsaw for the darkstep as that's how I like my drum and bass, as opposed to say, Hospital records sound.

Like I said before, brostep focuses on the mid. Dubstep on the sub. There's next to no discernable sub in either your music or the OPs. If there is, it's completely overwhelmed by the mids and highs. Maybe you could drop that obnxious synth a few octaves to a range were you need a proper sound system to feel it rather than hear it and have the progression of it not sound like it's having an epileptic fit.

This should be kept to a Shayper thread tbh.

The OP has posted his stuff in here, lets not ruin it by giving Shayper the attention he craves :)

Amazing. Culprate really isn't brostep. Neither is Skream, Torus, or many of the other producers tha by association would have to be affiliated with brostep.

Dubstep isn't just about the sub. Yes, it is very important, and as such have put a bassline that doesn't also cause everything else to be distorted. If you can't hear it, then I'd suggest investing in a better system, because I can hear it fine on my monitors.

Culprate is the definition of brostep. Like I already said, pretty much everything on Dubsaw was. As for Skream, his early tracks don't take brostep to the extreme, on tracks like The Judgement for instance, the mids and highs that are there do not detract from the bassline sound.

No dubstep isn't just about the sub. It's not about mids and highs though either. It's about atmospheres and minimal beats and sounds to paint those atmospheres. Some of the best dubstep could be the soundtrack to a modern film noir, like Distance's Night Vision or Fallen, Kryptic Minds stuff, to the otherworldly sounds of Burial

I'm using monitors and it still sounds like ****.

Thanks for that.

I started this thread to get people to listen to my music and give me feedback, I understand that not everyone will like it but I appreciate the feedback and I can deal with criticism.

If you want to argue about dubstep and sub genres then please start your own thread!!

Oh he does.....

I think the tiny bit of limelight that you have stolen and the fact that people are giving you good feedback has miffed little Shayper :D

btw Rhys, I don't listen to that type of music but I must say, it is a lot better than some of the stuff you hear coming out of peoples bedrooms. Are you looking at doing it seriously or are you just messing about?

Thanks!! I do it because I enjoy it. I didn't expect such good feedback to be honest so it's just a bonus!! I would love to do it seriously but that's just a dream lol

I don't know what your problem with Shayper is but it seems petty and sad to me. Besides, it's OhEsEcks that has derailed the thread.

Actually I gave my opinion on the OPs music. Shayper derailed it when he thought I was referring to his music that he'd thrown into a thread that wasn't about him. Everything that came after was a response to something Shayper had instigated. Now pipe down.

I haven't got any problem but it's a regular occurance, Shayper posts some stuff, stuff gets discussed, Shayper gets upset, 2-3 pages of arguments about genres........

It gets boring and I don't think it should happen in someone else thread when he is just putting his music out there.

Did OhEsEcks post his dubstep video in someone elses thread?

Didn't think so.

Oh really? So I didn't just give him a link to promote his music, as well as complimenting his stuff then?
