I think Blue Bloods is one of the most shockingly bad tv programs to ever be aired. It's genuinely cringe-worthy and I can't get why it's popular. They are all paragons of virtue: one of them went to Harvard and could have been a top lawyer but decided to join the police (how noble), another is a former police commissioner and his son is the current commissioner (as if that ever happens), then there is the other son who is one of the best detectives in the NYPD and just so happens to get all the main cases regardless of where they take place in the city, then there's the daughter who is a DA.
No family in the world is as perfect as they are, I'd like the show if there was a bit of darkness, maybe a bad apple or two in the family for example, but they are all just too perfect and it is nauseating to watch. As if to ram this down your throat, they then sit down in nearly every episode for Sunday lunch (why does every episode seem to take place on a Sunday?!) and discuss the moral issue that that episode is trying to peddle. That lunch always ends in an argument where one person storms off and has to be talked to by the dad or grandad.
It's the modern equivalent of diagnosis murder, a crock of **** that somehow proves popular. Anybody who thinks this is good should first get their head examined and then start watching The Wire. It ***** all over this show. /rant
