NFL 2012 Season

I'm pretty sure Boldin for the Ravens made a couple of crucial catches with a Niners player all over him before the ball was anywhere near. Basically the Niners couldn't do that and that was a major factor when it came to deciding who won the the game. I only saw one yellwo flag thrown for that type of foul throughout the entire game and it was happening quite often.

Yes one PI call, for the ravens on their winning drive on a third down, pretty hilarious

The ref at the end? I am guessing you are taking about the holding call? The offense player (can't remember who it was) was pushing just as much as the defence was pulling, I think it was the right call.

Yes, after being held for 7 yards he attempted to push off using the guys helmet, worst case scenario its replay of down, if flag thrown at initial foul its new set of downs half distance to the goal

Stressful game as I had money on the Ravens at 7/4! Thought it was in the bag at HT and that 3rd quarter return TD but after power outage was insane, momentum definitely switched to the 9ers! So stressed for that last minute of the 4th, I was watching in one of the casinos which was a good night. Big TV wall and deals on buckets of beer and chicken wings.

For those saying it was a bad ending, the right call was made as there was holding on both sides and the safety at the end was the smart move, the 9ers would have done the same thing.

Unlucky for the 49ers, really wanted them to win but sadly wasnt meant to be. Thought they would overhaul the Ravens near the end actually.

Anyhow congrats Ravens on a 2nd Superbowl win, the 49ers in the first half really werent in it. But 2nd half they came storming back but just couldnt get over the line.

Did you watch the game? Flacco just aired it towards our secondary with no one near the receivers, ravens won because of lack of secobdary and the ref at the end.

still bitter then, I watched the replay this morning and come on that was never going to be a holding call, it was 50/50 and he was never getting the ball anyway. ravens won the game in the first half anyway, so you only got the niners to blame for that.

Kaep missed his chance to throw The Catch IV whilst ironically the architect of The Catch III watched the game from the locker room...

A bit like when Culliver got PI called against him for the game winning drive for ravens and the ball went way out of bounds ;)?

As for no holding, jog on. Just seen this as well, holding on the kick off return.

49ers lost the game in the last drive, they call some proper plays and we are sitting with #6, they didn't and we had to rely on refs with disabilities, they were awful all game for both teams.

Or you know, 'The Run I', ****ing throwing it to the same receiver 3 times from 5 yards out of end zone? That is not going to work when refs aren't calling anything.

Great game, I didn't watch it live due to having work today but recorded it and just finished watching. I can't see why Frank Gore thinks the 49ers were the better team, it was very much (excuse the cliche) a game of two halves. The Ravens did just enough to hold on and won it fair and square. I don't see the 4th down at the end as holding by the Ravens CB, there was contact from both players and so it would have been harsh to call it on the Ravens imo.

If both do it you still flag and the play is reset by the way, so it is kind of a ****** call either way.

The worst call was on the second third down though where massive helmet to helmet contact occurs -
@ 9 seconds.

I imagine the only reason Frank has said that is because of the ****** call at the end, if 9ers go four and out without controversy nothing is said and people actually blame the disgrace of a first half.

We lost Harvin to Seattle but got Jennings from the Cheeseheads, so I guess it (sortof) evens out; Percy is a huge talent but he isn't a team player, Jennings lacks Harvin's explosiveness but is still a talented receiver and a safe pair of hands.

We got a 2013 Season thread up yet? Draft coming up soon...

Another Vikings fan! :D

Jennings is also a class act which is a nice plus :)

No 2013 thread up yet, not too sure there's much point yet.

As a Vikings fan I am thrilled we got Sharrif Floyd, he really should have been a top 5 pick; would like to see us get Justin Hunter with our other first round pick, but I have a funny feeling that we're going to choose Manti Te'o...

edit: well it was neither :p

So, here goes:

As a Vikings fan;
The last two years have been epic for us.
Smith, Kalil, Walsh all last year
This year;
Patterson, Rhodes, Floyd.

Floyd - him falling is insane. Mayock had him as a 3rd. We got him at 23rd and he was put down as the most valuable. Holy smoke. Happy with this. Allen, Floyd, Williams, Robinson. That's one hell of a D Line.
Rhodes - don't know much about him, but he's a highly regarded CB. Hopefully he'll help fill the gap that Winfield left, and people have said he should have solid coverage against people like Megatron. We need a Corner and a solid D Line given the fact we are in a league with Rodgers, Cutler and Stafford.
Patterson - God, I hope this guy is good. The Pats are my AFC team, but they didn't half make us pay for that spot. Our next pick is in the 4th, but we traded our 2nd up to the 1st at the cost of a 3rd, 4th and 7th. Gone.

Now, our real problem is, we need a MLB. Ogletree has gone. Te'o and Brown were some of our other favourites, but I don't see them falling to our other fourth pick.

This brings into the big shocks:
Te'o and Geno Smith.

Neither went. Only one QB went this time, and QBs weren't high in demand to be fair. But it wasn't Geno, generally expected to be the best QB. People are suggesting that he will go at 33 to Jax though. So we shall see.
Te'o on the other hand, I wouldn't mind him if he fell to us. Hell, I'd love to trade our remaining fourth and Gerhart for the pick to get him. But us, the bears and the Ravens now need a MLB. So I suspect he's going to be picked up 2nd round.

I think Vikings can be happy with that draft...

Im happy with Datone Jones will give us some flexibility and will help Clay out on the line too.

Would have liked to see Eddy Lacy picked by us but this was a far more sensible pick and we could look to pick up a Hometown boy in Montee Ball later in the draft... We still have DuJuan Harris who played well toward the end of last season too.
