Is that the sound of Raymond Lin totally missing the point whilst entering one of his bizarre rants again? How's the HTPC thread going for you? Should have bought a Mac Mini :p

No, its you and Mark A are missing the joke.

Mine was that when Crysis came out it brought even the latest PC to a crawl.

So "will is play Crysis" was a reference to his 4 year old PC playing the latest game.

Whoosh!

p.s. re HTPC, I have no idea why you are bring it up here, what purpose does it serve exactly? a dig at me? FYI, it was merely a curiosity question to ask why people build HTPC, your point being?

I happily played through Crysis at launch without my PC crawling in an unplayable mess.

Me too. I turned the settings down though. :p

My interest in either goes through phases.

New console released = OMG this is awesome! (New features / pretty graphics etc)

Then after a few years I start getting a bit bored and PC graphics have started looking better so go back to using the PC mainly again.

At the minute I find the loading times on consoles really annoying, which I know is silly but the amount of time it takes to load fifa and start a game is crazy with its endless menus and prompts!! Argh!!

With the last generation of consoles though it seemed to take PC gaming a while to surpass the quality of console games. Be it through hardware or just unnecessary costs for developers. It's only in the last year that I've been tempted to upgrade again and a lot of the renewed interest has been through the Steam sales.

Personally I'm hoping that the next PS / Xbox take the whole home entertainment thing further with decent media apps and perhaps a bigger empathise on digital downloads (PS Plus + etc).
