Playing slums yesterday really highlight how much spawn problems are dictated by map size.

Just look at how big that map is in comparison to the Black Ops 2 maps we have now. Slums, Cargo, Stand off, HiJacked, Plaza, Raid are all absolutely tiny
You can walk from one spawn to the other in a matter of seconds.
its impossible to find a location it can safely spawn you into when you have a team who spread themselves out across the map. What usually happens is that you have a mix of players, some who rush headlong at the enemy and meet the other rushers in the middle of the map. You then have those that camp at the back of their start. If those initial rushers win their fights, they end up in the back of the enemy spawn while the campers are still camping their spawn.
The only option then is to start spawning them to the sides which can equally be occupied. In plaza for example the alternate side spawns are the night club and then the arcade thing on the other side.
