How does the car run "better" on SUL then? Purely out of interest.
It does not run better, it runs normally.
I never said it ran better, just on normal UL it runs worse than normal.

How so?
It's all in your head, you psychologically want it to run worse on 95.
Economy goes down on UL and the car is just not as smooth.
Because I am not cheap I would rather run my car on what is recommended not on 'what will do/work'.
I would have thought that the less "cheap" option would be to get it remapped properly to run on 95RON and not bodge it with Octane Booster, but each to their own![]()
It's not a cheap affair at all.
Why are you of the opinion octane booster is a bodge? I've not seen any contributions that speak to that effect at all. I don't expect any either. Will /offski from Motors where every poster has their own little personal agenda.
As above, am exiting stage left from this discussion. It's a problem that will effect the entire group of islands, not just myself.
SUL will be entirely unavailable for all areas of motoring. Local racing (rallying, sprints, hillclimbs) all cars specifically mapped for it's use and anyone else who has a reason to use SUL over UL.
Looking into options available when SUL is withdrawn from the market, not looking for "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO Y U NEED SUL ANYWAY" from the (same old) group of typically handicapped posters.
what, OcUK is supposed to have some magical answer for you?
Off topic; out of interest, how often do you visit the mainland? My Integra drives me batty if I'm just doing town driving. In your shoes, I think I'd get an el cheapo 1.0 L car for the island and keep S2000 on the mainland.
Why do I want to spend my life driving a crapbox?
I think that would drive me far more batty than driving a decent car, irrespective of location.
I'm not being narrow minded, I am aware of ECU remapping and yes - it's a pig of a job.
The point is if I can 'break even' with Booster and UL and it work as it should and cost no more per litre than SUL than it seems like a reasonable option. I, however, have no experience with booster, it's Pros/Cons or otherwise. Apaprently nobody else here does either so posting in the first place was a waste of time.
What I take issue with is idiots who claim that not having SUL is not an issue at all. The question was not, "Do I really need SUL?", if it was I would have asked that. I am more than capable of deciding for myself whether I need, want or desire SUL for whatever application I choose.
I am not particularly impressed at the prospect of shelling out for ferry fees, aftermarket ECUs, a mapper and a day on the rollers purely because the local authorities refuse to repair SUL storage containers and instead discontinue it within the next 3 weeks.
