Power cut killed SSD?

SX, unfortunately
Before I pull it out and try and connect it to something else, is it normal for a powercut (in this case, my Dad fitting a light even with the supply cut off tripped the RCD) to kill an SSD? It's a 128GB M4. Rather irritating, as I'm sure you can imagine!

Last backup should have been 2am today so no data lost, but at the moment it looks like I'm going to have to put a temp old drive in :(

What's the warranty situation in this instance - it was only a power cut, surely it should be able to cope with that?!

tried clearing the mb cmos? or leaving the mb battery out? chances are its corrupted the cmos and not detecting the drive?

Hmm, haven't tried that - the drive shows up in the BIOS list, but not in the bootable drives list strangely. Just plugged it into my server to see if it's toast or not...

edit: looks like you may be right, wazza - it works fine in my server. Phew :)

glad to hear it:D,it will usually corrupt the cmos if theres a power cut or a hard bsod

so you have to clear cmos

And I'm back up - took ages to find where to switch to the actual drive in the bios. Things have changed a lot since I last had this kind of issue.
