Anyone got fibre broadband with plusnet?

been with plusnet for 3 years and found them very good and reliable. that's on normal broadband...........cant get fibre here :(

Just placed an order with them for their unlimited fibre. :) It'll be nice to finally move away from 3.5meg to something a bit more decent, nearly 20x faster so a nice little hike. :)

I've just transferred my Line and 5mb Broadband :o from Sky to Plusnet Fibre Unlimited, speed estimated during ordering was 68mb, now it is said to be 67 then 66mb.

BT have been booked for 22/2/13 :D - confirmed via text which is a nice touch...

Done the Topcashback thing for my £80.80 which has tracked, now the confirmation is a waiting game, I'm more of a Quidco Man myself, so how long will TCB take to confirm payment?

How do you get £80.80 on TCB? Only showing as £38.30 for me on the page?

Booked the day off work to ensure I'm here for when it goes live...I do hope Openreach keep to their scheduled appointment.

Right now I'm confused.

I have BT Openreach coming around on 22/2/13 to do the install.

I just a text from Plusnet stating my service will be active by midnight 23/2/12

Now I was informed with the transition from Sky landline and Broadband to Plusnet and Fibre BB there wouldn't be any downtime...or a maximum of 2 hours...is this the case or will I experience more downtime?

Signed up to these guys, Switching from Sky. Pity I can't get fibre around here. Due to live on the 20th.

Plusnet Fibre is fantastic. Never had a problem with them and I get the fastest speeds possible and I am quite far from the cabinet.

Thanks all. I've made my decision and I've decided that I'm going to jump to plusnet :)

You won't be disappointed, I went with them after being with BT's plain vanilla broadband for two years and the difference is night and day. At first I was a bit sceptical about Plusnet, dirty cheap internet deals normally means virtually non existent customer service for when things go wrong, Indian call centres and annoying traffic shapping/management. At the moment Plusnet has zero traffic management on it's unlimited 100Mb's deal (not sure about the rest of the products they provide) which means I can use my connection for what I want, when I want (damn putting like that makes sound like a Yorkshireman - the Geoffrey Boycott type. yikes)

On my HTPC which uses wi-fi -n the dongle is now the bottleneck!

Really can't decide whether to take my phone over to them or not. Would save the £50 connection fee and could save a bit over the next 12 months. Hmm.

I'm just trying to work out cable routing as my master socket is nowhere near my existing router/wired network.

Do Plusnet provide an all in one box or BT/infinity modem <--ethernet--> plusnet router? I hope it's the latter then I can use a couple of homeplug powerline ethernet adapters to connect the two.

No, PN will supply (you pay P&P) a basic Router and the BTOR engineer will install a standalone modem and connect the two.

Have you asked for an extension or not? That might help?

Just what I wanted to hear :)

I have though there is no easy/tidy route for a cable and may well be too far anyway. My master socket is 1st floor front bedroom (cable comes in from an overhead pole) whereas my existing wired network and router converge ground floor back.

Will order myself a couple of homeplugs and test them out.

Openreach have an arranged visit tomorrow 1-6pm, can't wait :D

Anyway online quotes have been 66-67mb, what are the odds of more? Driving distance I can't be more than 0.25 mile away from a cabinet, this isn't straight line distance...other thing is I do wonder when my Sky Broadband will cease working...?
